The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Orange in color... Aroma of floral hops... Flavor is caramel malts, light hops, not as dry as I’m used to but then again, it is the east coast... Minimal hops on the palate... Okay at best

Pour from bottle into pint glass. Pours a clear golden/light copper color with a 1/2" white foam head. Aroma is very hoppy with a bit of citrus and pine. Very hoppy front taste that quickly recedes with some lingering pine flavor. Highly carbonated and leaves the roof of the mouth feeling a little dry/rough.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a long lasting white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, orange marmalade caramel and biscuit malt. Body is medium and crisp. Citrusy, earthy hops dominate the palate while caramel and biscuit malt and ripe fruit provide support. Finish is long, grapefruity. Delicious brew.

Nice and crisp, the way a pale ale should be. They are pushing the water and it may very well play a factor. Very clean finish in which the hops predominate.

Slightly spicy hops, herbal and citric, lemon rind, sweet tangerine asserts itself in the middle (I just love that flavor) along with a slight grassyness, cracker/biscuit malt towards the end, finishes with an herbal hop bitterness on the palate.Somewhere in between light and medium bodied, very crisp and a bit dry. Another fine beer from Victory. Sessionable and full of hop flavor, just like an American pale ale should be.

Tried this beer on tap at the GABF in Denver, CO 2012. Smooth with a nice hoppiness and a clean crisp finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smooth with a good level of hops. Yum! No strong after taste... goes down pretty quickly!

Poured a clear, golden amber. Grass and bread aroma. Taste has a nice bitter bite with spice. Great balance and a tasty brew, one of my favorite American Pale Ale.

Pale orange-amber body. Large frothy white head. Soapy lacing. Balance of grapefruit, pine and floral hops. Light presence of pale malts. Medium to light bodied, clean bitterness, moderate carbonation, fairly refreshing finish. A simple, flavorful pale ale.
