The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Pours a dark gold with a moderate head to it. Nice hoppiness to it in both aroma and taste. Easy drink, yet very flavorful. Great example of an APA.

Cloudy yellow pour with a disappearing white head. Aroma is strong grapefruit and hops. Flavor is extreme hops with some grapefruit and other citrus. Finish is dry, mild alcohol presence and, again, strong hops throughout. ---Rated via @jxray76 on Twitter

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a small sized head of finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent orange colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of crisp && clean and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Pours clear golden with good head from bottle. Aroma is sweet with citrus hops. Taste is smooth with grapefruit . a great pale ale. Like another reviewer commented its like a mini-IPA

Clear amber pour with a nice head and lacing. Aroma is pine Abrams virus. Taste is grapefruit, orange, grass, and toffee. Easy drinker.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle. It pours a medium amber with a quick head that fades. The aroma is on the hoppy side with a little pungent caramel and raisins on the tail end. But the hops take over. The body is medium. The hops really want to be the bully on this one because they overpower the caramel malts and sweetness on the taste. Still, not that bad.

Crisp, clean, and pure, seriously, one of the purest tasting beers I have had, with the signature Victory hop flavor they have. Very nice, excellent PA, great summer brew.

On draft poured an amber color, aromas of citrus, pine, and light caramel. flavors follow suit, reminds me of an IPA, light bitterness, decent beer.

(I thought that the description said "Barleywine Creek" when I first glanced at it!) 355 mL bottle. Bronze with a small white head. Lots of resin in the aroma - very fresh. Almost IPA strength aroma - dry-hopped? Flavour is very well balanced between malt and hops, and a perfect level of bitterness comes in at the end. On the dry side for the style, and it works. Great APA.
