COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Pours a deep gold with a moderate white head. Aroma of parsley, pine, light citrus, lightly toasted bread, and some caramel. Flavor of citrus, grass, herbs, toasted bread, and moderate bitterness. Finishes with an earthy bitterness and some lingering grass and citrus hop qualities. Medium to light bodied and quite dry. Decent pale ale.

On tap, of all places, Moon Golf Club in Moon PA. Although not great, not a bad beer. Strong balance of hops and malts, good head retention, bready flavor, enjoyable. Good brew for an APA.

Solid Pale ale. Thick body. Good malts base under the hop flavors. Very solid drink.

Very attractive deep golden color. Perfectly clear. Aroma of hay/grass - which I don’t find appealing. Taste is quite bitter without much of an accompanying malt or citrus flavor for balance. An OK drink but I’ve had much better offerings from Victory.

Light amber, average carbonation. Aroma/flavor are full of citrus up front with a light caramel touch. Aftertaste is a light and mild lingering bitterness that is slightly grassy as opposed to citrusy or floral, making it rather pleasant and drinkable as a flavorful session ale.

Appearance- Golden colored, some head, not much lacing on the glass. Smell- Some citrusy hops with a malty undertone. Taste- Very balanced. Citrus flavors balanced by a solid malt backbone. Mouthfeel- As drinkable as a hoppy craft brew gets. Nice body, nice carbonation. Good hop flavor, but doesn’t destroy my palate. Overall- Another quality offering from Victory. A very good pale ale. Definately not one of those APAs that are basically IPAs, so do not expect a hopbomb. Just a quality beer you can drink a six pack over the course of a night and not regret it in the morning.

Clear amber color/ ivory head. Nice cat spray, floral, grassy aromas with some pale malt. Medium bodied. Nice floral, pine hoppy flavors with an average pale malt sweetness, nicely bitter finish--good.

Pouring into my nonic pint glass it arrives a clear orange color. A thin bubbly white head sits on top for a few seconds and then is gone. The nose is filled with citrus, piney and earthy hops. Not overpowering but enough to give a great scent. This brew is smooth! Nice citrus and piney hop flavor. A slight bit of malt backing. Crisp and clean finish.

Translucent copper with a lasting beige head,

Aroma: sweet pale and caramel malt, fresh juicy citrus piney hops.

Taste: citrus piney hops, some caramel malt, and a bit of bready yeast.

Nicely balanced but hop-forward APA, showcasing american ingredients.
