COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

12oz bottle. Poured a copper color with a small white head. Aroma was pine notes, a bit citrus, malts, slight caramel notes. Flavor was hoppy, sweet malts, touch of yeast. Very well made.

bottle-pours bright orange with a soapy white head with fairly big bubbles and some decent carbonation. nose is herbal, piney, green, almost earthy hop notes, doesnt smell like us hop varieties. some asprin like notes as well. flavors are grainy, lighly earthy/piney with some herbal tea like notes, grains, cereal, and some oxidization. Hmm, its not bad, but not great. definately a sessionable pale ale but par for the course for Victory these days.

Very dry and slightly bitter. A very good pale ale. Full bodied and utterly refreshing. Another winner from Victory.

Pours light orange, very clear and very still. Nice refreshing aroma of hops, grass, and some biscuit notes. Flavor is mostly bitter with a finish even more so. Pretty refreshing, although quite has some dry qualities.

12oz bottle. Pours a bright amber color with a nice off white head and some light lacing. Aroma is lemon citrus, some orange and grapefruit, grassy and floral hops, bread & biscuit malt. Flavor is lemon, orange, grapefruit hops, some grass, hint of pine, caramel and bready malt, good bitterness for an APA, touch of sweetness in the middle but finishes dry. A refreshing, medium-bodied pale ale with a noticeable hop presence.

This poured a light amber dark yellow color with a white head. Aroma was nice citrusy hops and light grass and cracker notes. Flavor was smooth bright hops, bot too bitter, but not malty either. Very nice Pale Ale/

Pours a beautiful dark amber with a pale tan head that has just a tinge of golden amber. Aroma is rather hoppy, almost more like an IPA than a regular ale, with a malty underpinning and a hint of citrus. Rich flavor has a nice balance of malt and hops with grassy, fruity and honey hints. This ale is very drinkable! Texture is smooth and quite pleasantly fizzy. Recommended.

12oz bottle, shared with my cousin. Clear orange color, thin off-white head, fading to minimal. Spotty lacing. Very good hop taste, but not overwhelming or bitter. The water does seem to make a difference, has that good-water feel. E: "Mint."

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2012 On cask at porter. Pours amber with thin white head. Aromas of grass & manure (not pejorative). Medium-bodied with a lot of green notes & dirt. Good, dirt qualities are ones I like in wine & rarely find in beer. Interesting, good.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, light pine, grass, light resin, light citrus, light orange, and light marijuana. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Sparkling. A few tiny particles throughout. Good lacing. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, light citrus, slight malt, light marijuana, and a hint of caramel. Medium body. Tingly, then dry texture. Average to slightly lively carbonation. Medium bitter, hop, pine, light citrus finish is dry.
