nice fresh hop aroma and taste at the first taste. light head. Like a good IPA without the heavy bitterness which is ummm like a good APA. Nice drinkable beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Fresh Market. Coppery gold with a stable loose white head. The aroma is clean and fresh, but not bright. Earthy and herbal with nutty golden malt undertones. Leaning towards a British pale ale in its being well balanced with some nice mushroom notes. It’s good session stuff.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark golden with a thin wispy off-white head. Notes of sweet citrus, mandarin, bready toasted malt, crackers, caramel. Medium bodied, moderately resinous with lush carbonation. Quite nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle poured to a czech-pils glass with a hazed, coppery/orangy golden color, with fairly lasting, fluffy, cream toned head foam, and clingy spots & squiggles of lacing. The nose was pleasantly inviting, with light pine, mainly tangerine, then peach, and appropriate sweetness. The flavor started dry, with an earthy, lingering hop bitterness, and just enough smooth malt to balance. Light to medium body, lively carbonation, and a finish that successfully continued the dry and bitter theme. A very quaffable Pale!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This pale ale pours a clear dark copper color. Huge white fluffy head. Lacing everywhere. As soon as I put this up to my nose I was impressed. This is one hopped up pale ale! Full of floral and piney hops with some citrus lingering. Nice presence of caramel malt.
The taste doesn’t quite match the amount of hops that the smell has but it’s still very hoppy for just a regular pale ale. Some IPAs would be jealous. The citrus comes in more here with the piney hops following. The beer finishes with a nice toastiness. Kind of like a biscuit.
Mouthfeel is a little bit on the light side, almost watery but it all fits together nicely and I don’t mind this kind of mouthfeel for a 5.10% beer. Goes down just really nice

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep golden with a big fluffy head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma features a bunch of fruit forward hops, some dank-ness, and a very nice and surprising expression of toasty malt.
The flavor is lightly spicy with a nice toasty malt character throughout. All the while fruit forward hops are the dominant flavor here. This is a very good malty version of an APA that has more hop flavor than most either malt or hop forward APAs. Just a damned enjoyable beer.

Creamy, sweet but with a crisp, dry finish. Hoppy finish. Only slightly bitter at the end.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The Headwaters pours out a clear golden color, with light and fluffy foam on top. Aromas are slightly hoppy, but heavy on the sweet side of things.
Just a touch of hops balance nicely with a substantial amount of malts. The hops are slightly bitter, but more citrus and piney than a sticky/bitter style. The malts are sweet, but not candy/sugary sweet. Very nice balance and a very clean smooth finish.
