3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle, pale amber color with little head. Lacing prominent on sides of glass. Aroma is fresh and floral with some sweet citrus but not too overpowering with the hops. Taste is fairly bitter but really well balanced out by the sweetness. Palate is full with a crisp, fresh, aftertaste. As bitter as the taste is, the aftertaste is very smooth with no bitterness. Very enjoyable beer. Really lives up to its name with a clean, pure taste with tons of flavor.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild aroma, with just a couple of hop notes, more of a caramel aroma. Pours a clear amber, with a dusting of head. Nice hop bite in the start with this beer, with a fairly short finish. This isn’t a bad beer, but there’s very little out of the ordinary about it. Solid and enjoyable, but there are better in the style that are available.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I poured a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass...
The liquid was a light, copper, orange color with a thin, bubbly, white head that dissipated quickly. It smells amazing for a pale ale, there are hints of lime, grapefruit and sweet malt. The taste consists lemon and lime with a hint of bready sweet malt and a piney, hoppy aftertaste. The beer is light, with stinging carbonation and a slightly dry finish. Headwaters pale ale is highly drinkable, it’s perfect for a hop-head that wants to have a nice drinking session.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
20110314 12oz bottle from State Line. Light amber color with small khaki head. Aroma is mildly citrus with grapefruit and dried orange rind, some slight fresh fennel, dandelion, light crackery malts. Light-medium body, grassy dryness, mineral hints, about zero sweetness. Really clean, easy quaff. Oh boy, a sixtel of this is definitely in my future.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma has some heavy hop action going on. Pours with a thin head and leaves little lacing. The taste is clean and slight. It doesn’t linger very long either. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the style but this was better than most.
