transparent orange, frothy large bubbled cream head. Dank, resinous pine nose, bit of orange and mango freshness, light bitterness to keep free of any sweetness. Flavor a bit sweet, cheesy, toasted grain and light orange and mango, lightly resinous and sticky through finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz.bottle. Pours a thin, short duration white head, over a clear, light amber (SRM7) body....nose is citrus, pine, toffee....taste is pine, grapefruit peel, light toffee.caramel, touch of cereal, finishing with a medium resin layer....mouth feel medium, carbonation high. This is a fairly typical APA. It has a nice hop bite, balanced by the malts, finishing clean and crisp. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

12oz bottle pours out hazy orangish/yellow color with off white head and lacing that clings. the aroma of citrus hops is prevelant. you also get a bit of biscuity malt. the flavor is smoooooth...the citrus of the hops is there but not really any type of bitterness. a very good beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aromas of sweet malts, orange and a little bit of biscuit. Flavors of sugary malts, faint hop bitterness, and some citrus. Basically a malty mess at this point. I am guessing this is old at this point.

Overall poorly balanced. More malty than hoppy. Not a refreshing finish. Could be drier.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel and mild citrus hops. It pours a slightly hazy amber with a two finger orange tinged off-white head that quickly fades to a ring around the edges of the glass. Thereís a decent amount of sticky webbing left on the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel with a hint of fruit. The finish has some light pine and grapefruit hops with a touch of peach. Medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall...as soon as a smelled this I knew it wasnít fresh. I had never seen this on shelves before and assumed it was. The best buy date is September 19, 2011. It says itís in anniversary beer, but if itís ever brewed again, Iíd love to give another go at it.

Bottle: Clear gold cider look with a small fuzzy white ring head. Wonderful aromas of apricot, grapefruit and toastiness. Great hoppy flavor for a pale ale. Crisp and dry in the finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a hell of a beer. It is a plain Jane golden color with a small head but thatís about the only negative thing I can say about it. It is a crisp and light APA with lots of citrus and a bit of grassy character to keep things nice and even. Itís light bodied w/o being watery and solidly carbonated without being prickly or overbearing. Itís pretty dry w/ only enough sweetness to balance the firm herbal hop bitterness in the finish. A lot of people think hops and they go for the big IPA or IIPA. This in my opinion is an equally good showcase for how American hops can work in a brew, as a crisp lemony counterpoint to sweetness which increases drinkability w/o assaulting your taste buds.
