COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Golden color with a foamy white head. Light citrus hop nose. Soft grainy malts with lemon and bitter orange peel hops. The finish seems a bit thin. Not much here really.

Sampled at Bigelos with Debbie and Joe. Filtered which is what many of their beers seem to be. This beer is citrus and softer malts. Citrus and some lemon notes. Grain. I like the citrus here and this is almost sessionable which is a bonus. Not bad at all.

Bottle @All My Vinyl Tasting, Edinburgh. Pours golden thin-ish white head. Grapefruit nose, some sweet malty hints on the nose as well. Quite bitter straight away (lemon/bitter lemon) a sharp fruity-ness, nice enough just a little thin on the finish.

Pale and slightly hazy, decent filmy head. Oaty grapefruit nose. Strawy grainy bitterness. Light, cereal sweetness.Comfy carbonation. Lemony linger. Solid enough but there’s no impact without being too watery.

Bottle, Craig’s Florida Hall, All My Vinyl Tasting

Bottle, Cave, Glasgow. Slightly hazy amber pour with a small white head. Fragrant grassy hop and citrus in the snout. Uncomplicated sweet malt and grassy hop flavour . A little on the thin side and teeters towards the average side of the tracks. Not my favourite Victory offering.
