3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask version at Winking Lizard’s 3rd Annual Real Ale Fest (03/26/11): Pours a hazy orange color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of herbal hops and citrus. Medium body with a fruity character and notes of hops and spices as well as sweet malt. The finish is mildly hoppy up front with a fruity finish. Decent overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This was solid. Copper colored beer with a frothy, off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, and floral hops. Tastes of freshly cut grass, pine/spruce, and HUGE grapefruit notes. The finish is quite refreshing, and extremely fruity. Bitter hops are nicely balanced with the grapefruit. Easy drinking.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours clear amber with a creamy/bubbly off-white head. Aroma is nicely floral/fruit over mild roast malt. Med body. Flavor is moderately hoppy - fruit and floral over mild roast malt. The finish is definitely on the bitter side. Hop accumulates towards a slight burn. Good stuff.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2011 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel amber color with a large soapy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was faint floral and vaguely fruity hops that lacked complexity or any depth beyond the hops. The flavor was dry and bitter with a mild floral and perfumey hop presence and a faint touch of caramel. The finish was short, dry and perfumey. Medium body. A real disappointment from what is usually a decent brewer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fresh, pungent citrus hop aroma; orange peel and tangerine. Really fresh and surprising. sweet and high-alpha. Flowery perfume at the end.
The appearance is clear yellow-orange; scant, slushy head.
Flavor is a combination of flowery rose petals and ripe tangerines. Orange blossom and juniper. Very sweet indeed, with no bitterness to speak of. Just this side of cloying, with sugary malts, but never oversteps its boundaries.
The feel is a smooth, buttery texture. A sweet, highly accessible pale ale. Flower and citrus, like a spring morning. Easily drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Serving: Draft at Fireworks. It pours a light orange color with a decent foamy white head. The nose has a bit of earthy, citric hops, but otherwise it’s fairly light. The flavor has a lot of dank herbals in a rather light taste. Not much in the way of malt. Light in body with lower, soft carbonation leading to a dry finish. A nice light easy drinker.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Pours a copper body with a white head and light retention. Mild herbal and grass tones. Light soft hoppiness that victory is just know for in these parts. Soft and clean with a mild herbal green spiciness. A hint of spruce and juniper. Solid APA.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer was highly ranked, i found it to be lacking. The aroma is nothing to write home about and the color is run of the mill golden. Taste in the beginning is crisp but soon has a funky, off quality that continues in the aftertaste. Overall this beer did nothing but disappoint which is odd considering that Victory is one of my favorite breweries. I would not buy it again, nor would I recommend purchasing this to anyone.
