COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Pours a clear golden color on tap with fluffy white head that laces nicely. Aroma of hops, citrus, dank freshness. Taste follows, really fresh with a nice page malt back. Really nice, drinkable pale ale.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 09.02.15. Clear golden. White head. Aroma of American hops, bitter grape fruit and pine. Taste of dried fruits, marmelade, pepper and wet cardboard. Dry mouthfeel and dry, almost dusty, bitter aftertaste.

Bottle (12 oz) bought @ Winooski Beverage Warehouse.

Appearance: Clear golden/amber with a medium off-white head and good lacing.

Aroma: Massive spruce presence, earthy notes, caramel, citrus and light toasted malt.

Taste: Spruce, earthy notes, caramel, citrus and toasted malt. Light bitterness.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Lingering earthy finish.

Overall: Not sure of the bottling date, but considering many other ratings have a lot of citrus in this one, I guess the aromatic hops in the bottles I had might be gone. Surprisingly spruce forward with a lenghy (a bit too much) earthy bitterness. Less clean than usual for a Victory quenching beer. I will have to revisit.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours deep golden, clear, little head. Aroma of bread. Some sweetness, but well hidden by a bitter, long lasting aftertaste.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.1%. Clear golden colour, moderate to low white head. Sweetish aroma with hints of orange marmalade, notes of earthy hops and wood, even a hint of smoke. Fairly hoppy and peppery flavour, with a distinct bitterness in the aftertaste.

355mL bottle from Beer Cartel Enjoy By 22/07/2015 Pale orange gold body, bit of haze, creamy white head. Nice nose; grapefruit, pine, peach, some toasty, grainy malt underneath. Medium-to-full body, nice slickness to the texture, moderate carbonation. Palate bursts with lots of citrusy, woody, spicy American hops. Good toasty malt backbone provides good balance to a full bitterness. Very decent APA.

Pours a bit unclear blonde. Smell is sweet ( honey style) with some bityer undertone. Taste is rathet sharp, sweet malts ( again a mild honey aspect) with only a hint of hoppy bitterness underneath.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours clear golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of fruity exotic hops. Taste is light sweet malty, light thick and oily mouthfeel, dry spicy hops in the long finish. Nice
