COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2011 Bottle from whole foods in Allen. This beer pours a golden amber with a thin off white head. The aromas are natural gas, citrus, dough. The mouthfeel is dry and slightly watery with a medium body. Cheers!

Bottle into a tulip glass. First off, the aroma was full of heavy citrus and grassy/floral notes. Some pine in their, too, but not as much as many other pale ales I’ve tried. Pour was great! Nice frothy head similar to the way a cappuccino makes. Messy lacing and a see through golden-brown body. Great taste! Solid hops bring a nice solid grapefruit/pumelo flavor with some pine and grass notes following up. A touch of sweetness counteracts the hop bitters. Might sound crazy but the finish has a slight flavor (from the hops) that reminds me of hose water that you would drink when you were outside playing sports when you were a kid. VERY refreshing and easy on the palate. Would go great with some sushi. Easily the most enjoyable APA I’ve ever had.

Pours an orange-gold with a minimal pale beige head. Nose is a lot of grassy noble hops up front, a fruity-piney perfume, some bready, biscuity malt, and lightest citrus. Taste is mostly bitter, without a lot of sweetness, though some develops with a little warmth. Palate is softer but slightly tingly carbonation, light bodied, with a bitter tea-like finish. This was a nice refreshing beer on another record heat day in the deadzone. A solid session beer with plenty of character.

From a 355ml bottle on 26/3/2015. Pours a clear golden with a smallish head. Has a pleasant light fruity aroma with some honey in the mix. In the mouth, there’s some sweet biscuity malt and citrus fruit (sweet orange, tart/sour lemon) but it’s the big, dry, piney, herbal bitterness that defines this. Hop wise, this is very much in IPA territory. Medium bodied with average carbonation. This is a cracking, very flavoursome hop forward APA.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Fair Lakes. Nice easy drinking but hoppy beer. Pours a pale yellow with a slight orange tint and thing tan head. Good head retention. Hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit. Moderately sweet flavor with earthy, herbal hops. Lots of citrus and bit of onion.

Solid pale ale, fluffy white head, pine hops with some citrus. A liitle bit of dirty socks in the aroma. Aftertaste is pretty short but overall a lot of nice flavors. However by the end just wasn’t too excited to keep drinking.

This belongs in a good group of Pale Ales. Victory has made a solid beer here. Copper pour with an average white head. Balanced grassy hops combined with caramel malts. Simple, but well executed.

A Gorgeous, floral-hopped pale ale. Clean finish, good mouth feel, lots of refreshing citrus and (dare I say) geranium on the palate. A top quality ale (and easily my favorite) from the solid brewery that is Victory. Akin to similar hopped brews such as Daisy Cutter and Gumball Head.

Aroma is grainy, with some light citrus hops. Flavor is very simple, some sweet malt and finishes with piney hop bitterness. Overall it is watery and light bodied, also light on flavor. Simple and easy drinking, but boring.

Kind of creamy, malty, and hoppy. Some spiced and roasted malts. Enjoyable. Slightly bland but a good brew.
