COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Orangy color with little foam. Hoppy smell. The taste is a bit earthy, lightly carbonated and a little oily in the aftertaste. Not bad, but a little tart.

On tap at Little Woodrows. Pours transparent gold. Very light and drinkable, crisp carbonation and weakly citrus flavors. Easy to drink, but seems watery to this IPA fan. Still, a great session ale if you want a light pale ale with some citrus flavor.

Jado (673) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - NOV 5, 2014
From 355 ml bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin but lasting white head. Aromas of orange peel, cut grass, caramel and peaches. Taste is restrained sweet fruit at first before a firmer citrus zest and pine bitterness washes through. Quite a lingering finish with a bitter but fruity aftertaste. Nicely done.

Bottle. Pours a dark honey. Pillowy white head. Fresh grapefruit aroma. Small lacing. Classic PA bitterness with a crisp dry finish. Bitter dry mouthfeel. I’m more of an IPA fan then the PA however this one is very well done and tastes very fresh even though the bottle was not new.

Bottle. Pretty transparent amber pour. Aroma is sweet malt, pine, and pineapple. Taste is a lot of pine and a little malt. Finish is bitter. Light to medium level of carbonation. Body is also light to medium.

Pours a darker gold with a short lived eggshell head that leaves some lace. Aroma is a mix of citrus and herbal hops with some caramel malt undertones. Taste has good bitter herbal hop punch with a bit of minty/pine linger. Not too bad.

330mL bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of zesty citrus which is also present in the flavour with a doughy yeast flavour and a biscuit malt backing.

DATE TASTED: August 6, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Brew at the Zoo pint... OCCASION: watching the Fox faux Republican debate with a giddy anticipation... APPEARANCE: clear, light amber body; bubble sparsely populate the glass; fluffy, white head leaves intricate coral lacing that is attractive ... AROMA: the given citric appropriateness of a pale ale--lemon grass, grapefruit, and soft floral hints--an overall soft suggestion... PALATE: strong carbonation livens the mouth, with a medium-bodied, reasonable finish--easy drinking and sessionable... TASTE: a sessionable, apologetic pale ale, one that does not distinguish itself in profile--no outstanding or detrimental characteristics...light bitterness with a maltiness that balances this beer nicely... OVERALL: after reading the label, I got the sense that this beer would be an ale far short of Hop Devil or Dirt Wolf...instead, it is more of an about-face or 180, softening the genre and rounding its edges... agreeable but not distinguishable...the citrus is light, there is no resin, and enough malt holds the beer in place...a lesser, yet still worthwhile beer in a Victory sampler...

Pour orange off white head. Aroma earth, caramel, pine, floral, grassy hops. Taste caramel, pine, floral and grapefruit, resiny hops, not enough malt backbone. MF medium body light fizzy carb. Pretty blah.

Was informed about this one by my friend Bill Ellis. Great to see a new beer from Victory that is not > 8% alcohol. This one is extremely floral and fruity with a very crisp and slightly bitter palate. Color is extremely clear and has a unique shade of orange and gold hues. This beer is predominantly hoppy.
