The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Victory Headwaters Pale Ale is a crystal clear, lightly sparkling golden ale with a dense, bubbly white head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a huge, fresh hoppy aroma of pine and flowers. It has a very smooth medium body with a solid, dry finish. It’s a nice, simple, hoppy flavor with perfect bitterness and perfect balance. It tastes slightly dry and piny. This is a supreme example of an American pale ale.

from notes: Pours hazy golden-amber, with a 1-finger off-white head. Lemony aroma with a touch of bready yeast. Body is light, with a mildly dry finish. Flavor is lemony, with a grainy note beneath.

355 ml bottle into shaker. Slightly hazy bronze beer with thin white sudsy head. A few tiny bubbles ascend. A slight zinginess, lingering finish. A bit fruity, a touch of malt, some subtle hop touchs. This is a beer that develops with every swallow. As it warms more flavours appear. But it’s so easy drinking I’ve finished it! Should’ve bought two........

Light amber, average carbonation. Aroma/flavor are full of citrus up front with a light caramel touch. Aftertaste is a light and mild lingering bitterness that is slightly grassy as opposed to citrusy or floral, making it rather pleasant and drinkable as a flavorful session ale.

Pint on tap. Straw-colored clear beer, persistent small head and decent lacing. OK smell, nothing too special, a little "rough". Overrated taste. Basic pale ale, nothing too fancy. Bitter, a little hop oil, kind of pleasant. Nothing bad in it , it’s got a light palate for a pale ale. Pretty good.

Drank from a twelvee ounce bottle, acquired through the unknown. Has a decent well balanced aroma. Tastes sweet, with not much hop finish, a decent pale ale!

Pours light orange, very clear and very still. Nice refreshing aroma of hops, grass, and some biscuit notes. Flavor is mostly bitter with a finish even more so. Pretty refreshing, although quite has some dry qualities.
