COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

from notes: Pours hazy golden-amber, with a 1-finger off-white head. Lemony aroma with a touch of bready yeast. Body is light, with a mildly dry finish. Flavor is lemony, with a grainy note beneath.

Pours a semi-clear copper color with a slight head but not much of one leaving a little lacing in the middle of the glass. the scent smells great with its bitter hops and blend of grains and malts. The taste isn’t anything new but it is great. It has just the right volume to it as well as flavors. There’s just enough hops to make the beer great without going too far overboard. Some nice citrus and wheat hints as well. A very well made beer that I definitely suggest trying!

Orange-gold pour with a thin white head. Malty, biscuity, orange and lemon aromas. Taste is light sweetness, herbal and citrusy, light bitterness, fairly light flavours

Bottle. Pours copper with a off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, spice, earthy hops, a bit of biscuit and dull pine. Flavors of light sweet caramel/biscuity malt, bitter tinges here and there, toasty throughout. Even carbonation and a nice balance of sweet/malty/bitter throughout with a malty finish that holds a nice creeping bitter end. Overall, a pretty nice session beer.

Pours amber with good head and good lacing. Aroma is very good and complex, with citrus hops, cereal, sweet malts, and yeast. Something different every time you inhale. Taste is mild sweet malt, followed by refreshing hops that fade into a lasting bitterness, which is accompanied late with a good dose of yeast. An interesting contrast to the hop-centric west coast IPA style. Much more balanced. Palate is medium bodied, pretty smooth and moderate carbonation. Overall a very nice APA.

Holy flowers batman! I can’t say that I’ve ever tasted a beer quite this floral. The flavor is sweet, floral and hoppy, but not in a bitter way, not in an overpowering way, an absolutely amazingly delicious way. Flavor is a 10 (there is also some citrus), I give it a 10, I still got wood (Varsity Blues reference a decade later is fine).

Light orange with straw color. Outstanding aroma, hoppy floral essence. Beer is somewhat dry, somewhat bitter. Medium-strong hop on the flavor. Not bad.

Pours an orangish red color with a white head. Smells of pine trees. Taste is kinda bitter with some floral notes. I kinda really like this one for some reason. Not sure what it is.

Bottle @ BrewDog Manchester. Aroma of basement, vegs, and some hops. Clear light brown with small head which quickly disappears into virtually none. Moderate dry bitterness. Some caramel sweetness. Finish is dry. Texture is watery. Carbonation is average.
