COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Good looking ale, pours out clear golden with a high rocky head. Piney, citrus hoppy nose, sharp hops rule the taste. Crisp, and tangy. Bitter finish.

Outstanding. This APA can seriously substitute as an alternative when I want something a little bit different but equally awesome to the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Plenty of hops, especially on the very dry finish. Very pleased.

Bottle. Clear golden amber pour, with a white head. Citrus, hoppy, grapefruit, grassy bitterness, tangerine, and dry bready malt. Pretty good.

Decent bubbly head, while the color has a golden yellow color. Aromas of the fruitiest orange blossom and bright lemon, balanced by biscuits and bready, sweeter malts. The nose anticipates an IPA with a dominant malt base, which will be as important as the hops in the beer. Begins with bready malts, moderate carbonation and toffeeish hints, which add a subtle sweetness to the beer. Orange and Papaya flavors come up in a gentle, enjoyable way, with just a little bitterness. Sweetness fades on the finish as sticky, bitter resins emerge and linger together with the tropical fruitiness. The palate is light bodied and well balanced between a present maltiness and fruity, mellow hop flavors.

Pours a deep amber with an average head. Aroma is lemongrass. Starts sweet but quickly turns bitter with just enough malt to keep it smooth. Dry finish that hangs with you. Nice beer to take your time with.

Smell of hops, citrus. Hazy amber colour, beige head. Aroma of hops, spruce, a hint of grapefruit. Mid-flat and plentiful carbon. Starts off slightly sweet, turns quickly bitter. Slightly dry palate. Nicely balanced and rather hopped for being an APA.

Golden amber, smells of rye, grass, and slight lemon, taste of the same. Very sharp on the palate, probably a one timer for me.

Bottle from deeside drinks emporium. Pours a clear amber gold with a soft thin white head that fades. Aromas of citrusy lemon, grass, celery and soap. Taste is a nice malty bitter sweet with a sour grapefruit peel finish.
