COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

DRAFT. Nose is pleasing citrus, pine, resin and toast. Flavor is very tropical with soft caramel and a touch of pine. Finish is light bitterness with a fair amount of sweetness. Carbonation is low. Clean malt character backed with plenty of American style hops that punch in the middle but leave before balancing the malt sweetness and nuttiness.

Tap; pour is honey golden with an average white head that retains on the average side. This brew has a nice floral hop note on the nose, with a bit of biscuits and a touch of sweetness. The brew starts on the sweet side, with biscuits, honey and florals rounding it out. Bitterness is subdued. This is a nice brew

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light copper color with a 1/4" off white head. Aroma is caramel malt and both citrus and floral hops. Flavor is the same. Nicely balanced. Medium palate with high carbonation. Very nice pale ale.

bottle-pours bright orange with a soapy white head with fairly big bubbles and some decent carbonation. nose is herbal, piney, green, almost earthy hop notes, doesnt smell like us hop varieties. some asprin like notes as well. flavors are grainy, lighly earthy/piney with some herbal tea like notes, grains, cereal, and some oxidization. Hmm, its not bad, but not great. definately a sessionable pale ale but par for the course for Victory these days.

WabashMan (1016) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Pours a medium-dark orange with slightly off white head. Head fades too quickly for top marks, but the color is very nice. Aroma is very nice, with an orangey citrus note from the hops. Flavor is drier than I expected. The citrus aroma of the hops takes a background role in the flavor, giving the hoppiness a more bitter character. Overall, a very nice APA.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours orange copper with a fluffy off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor that is well-balanced with subtle hopping. Easy to drink.

Very organic taste. Fresh, yet subsided by the stuff that makes things organic. It seems this brew was a solid pale ale at first but then went through a clarifying process that dumbed it down some. Its still solid, yet lacks the hop bite and forcefullness that would make it a super pale ale. Bronzed copper in color, a head the digs deep at first and then simmers down to a flat striaght while always there. Organic wheat and soli mix the smell with tangerine and citrus running in the background. Very fresh taste, very likeable brew. A solid, though less than stellar, pale ale. 12oz bottle poured into a Cabin 2011 Pilsner glass.

(12oz bottle best by Jul 18, 2011 thanks to Dixonian) clear orange-ish with a ring of white bubbles. Nose of umami, orange/grapefruit, pine, a bit candied citrus, and bread. Taste of bread, candied citrus, spicy, and rye. An oily body with a nice linger.
