COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Pours from 12 oz bottle a clear, pale yellow body with a white head. Aroma of citrusy and lightly spicy hop notes, great malt profile. Flavour of citrus fruits, some grass, tropical fruits, light toffee sweetness, and a bitter, grapefruit finish. Overall decent.

Buon esempio di american pale ale, limpida con una schiuma che tiene e compatta. Si beve bene e non stanca.

Middle of the road, perfectly fine pale ale. Good gateway beer for those beginning to experiment with hops on their palate.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral hops and light malts. Flavor about the same. Pretty hoppy for a pale ale. Average texture. A nice brew, but nothing special.

Bottle from Sam’s. Pours clear amber with minimal head. Nose of bitter hops and a solid malt profile showing some biscuit. A bit more bitter than expected on the taste, and not in a way that I really dig. Not very impressed.

Clear gold with a bit of white head. Aroma is sweet, citrusy and a bit spicy with a hit of grass. Taste is the same, and pretty clean with a peak of hop bitterness halfway in that fades into breadiness in the finish. $2/12oz
