COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

On tap at Little Woodrows. Pours transparent gold. Very light and drinkable, crisp carbonation and weakly citrus flavors. Easy to drink, but seems watery to this IPA fan. Still, a great session ale if you want a light pale ale with some citrus flavor.

Strength is bitter after-taste. Clear blond color with modest head and body. Low ABV makes it a decent session brew.

Bottle… Florida Craft Beer and Wing Fest 2012… Pours clear and golden with a small, wispy, white head. Good retention. The aroma offers mild grapefruit and other citrus fruit essences. Light to medium-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and jovial carbonation. The flavor is mainly well-balanced with grapefruit bitterness backed up by biscuit malt sweetness. Finishes crisp and mildly bitter.

Bottle. Shared with Pat. Poured clean copper. With good head and decent retention. Nose very oniony with sweet malt and light citrus aroma. Sweet malty taste with hops, onion and a little citrus coming through. Good mouth feel. I do not believe this bottle was that fresh. I’ve had this before with more floral aroma and taste.

From tap. Pours a amber/ orange color with a haze. Small head. Aroma was musty with a hint of spice and orange. Taste follows and is mild in the palate and finishes clean.

Beautiful beer poured from a bottle. Nothing special in my view. In the review video (http://www.victorybeer.com/beers/headwaters/& the CEO of Victory notes the citra hop. But, this doesn't taste like citra to me. Earthy taste rather than the provinces citra flavor.

Lightly hazed orange with creamy white head and lace. Aroma is bready, light caramel malt, and resiny hops. Dry maltiness and a citrus bitter. A touch of sour as well. Medium bodied and a tad fizzy.

Light orange color with small white head and minimal lacing. Aroma and flavor are all malt, amber, light caramels, with grapefruity hops. Okay overall
