COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Pours a clean golden hue with a fading fizzy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of ... SUMMER LOVE, same hop profile, same malt profile with the addition of some caramel malts.. yet Summer Love is called a Blond Ale and this an APA? Really there is almost no difference! The taste is actually LESS HOPPY in this beer than either the aforementioned Summer Love or the NB Hoptober. While you get some grassy and resiny hops, the malt seems more noticeable and a tad sweeter. Additionally the brew tastes more flabby and unfocused. The mouth feel is sprite and sharp, medium-bodied and a tad minerally. Overall a nice brew but perhaps a bit too casual and basic.

Bottle. Light amber, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, caramel and some fruitiness, some bread and light piney hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and some fruitiness, some bread and piney hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, faint fruitiness and some piney hoppyness, caramel. Caramel sweetish pale ale - could use more hoppyness.

A very good pale ale. Smooth and mild with light hoppy sharp notes. Just really solid all around.

Draft at Momo’s Tennessee street. Pours a pale clear gold and a sudsy white head. Nose is citrus fruit, pine hops, bready malts and light sweetness. Pine hops on the front end, light malt mid palate and finishing bitter. Clean drinking and crisp pale ale. Not bad.

Correct.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2012 On beer engine at Khyber Pass. Still presented with a large pillowy head. Smooth APA. Well blended mix of hops. Grassy citrus flavors. Worth drinking but not for going out of your way.

Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in a pint glass. This beer has a very pleasant nose with a crisp citrusy aroma. It pours a dark golden color. It tastes slightly malty with a clean aftertaste that matcher the aroma. Overall its not a bad beer, but not likely a beer I will go out of my way to have again.

Orange in color... Aroma of floral hops... Flavor is caramel malts, light hops, not as dry as I’m used to but then again, it is the east coast... Minimal hops on the palate... Okay at best
