COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: There’s a slight haze in the light amber body with a creamy white head that has average retention.
Aroma: Caramel malts and hints of orange battle for the nose with a hint of spice. Pretty mild.
Taste: Light floral bitterness is accompanied by a light malt base with a hint of spice. Not big on this.
Palate: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: I do not enjoy this very much. The flavor profile simply doesn’t appeal to me.

A decent ale. First taste is light and crisp that transitions to a hoppy taste on the palette but it leaves a malty taste Hops are pine in flavor and strong for a pale ale ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Guest bottle at the 2Bros tap house. Rather fruity tasting pale ale. Citrus and herbal hops. This is one of those very hoppy pale ales that would have been considered a IPA back in the early days of the microbrew movement. Serving: Bottle

Golden/amber pour with a small white head. Earthy hop aromas with notes of pine and grass. Flavor is dry and hop forward. Decent brew but not as complex as others that I have had.

On tap at Proof, advertised as Victory 15th anniversary, pour pale later, a little tan lacing, weak hoppiness, very dry, grassy, a bit gritty, not great, but spectacular for an anniversary. Boring.
