COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

A clear golden body with a nice white head that had decent retention and lacing. Aroma had a nice citrus hop profile with nice bread malts. There was a slight hint of pine hops to it. Flavor was nice and bitter, not dominating like an IPA, but still assertive. Hops were mainly citrus but there was just enough pine to balance it out. Bread malts were decent. A nice easy to drink beer, terrific session ale.

Can from Meditrina. Bright clear copper with lasting head and lace. Pine and spice aroma with a touch of caramel and grains. Toasted caramel sweetness roasted nuts cereal mild fruit with piney spicy bitterness that lingers. Medium body medium carbo. Classic American pale ale and definitely not to be confused with an IPA. Excellent.

Dissetante e rinfrescante, sessionabile!

(Bottle, 0.355 l, at Gallows Bird, 20150829) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and citricness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A tasty but very usual pale ale.

Bottle at Beer Ditch, Malmo, Day 2 of RBESG ’15 21/08/15. Catch up bier having drank this at the source and in Philly. Golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is light fart, bitter orange, straw, melon, bread dough. Taste comprises melon, tangerine, a touch soapy, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, a touch soapy though, likely not so fresh.

Bottle at Beer Hunters, Pori. Clear amber-copper color, small steady off-white head. Citrus, piney and a bit bready aroma. Light-bodied. Pale malty with piney flavor. Hints of citrus. Simple pa. Of course probably better over the pond.
