COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

Pours a light amber with a small head, Mild aroma of malt and possibly tropical fruits. Hop-forward, but not as much as an IPA. Notes of spruce and a sharper taste of something that is not in west coast pale ales. Full bodied, but not a long finish. All in all, a good ale.

Pours a clear pale amber with a decent small bead, white head. Aroma is malt and straw. Taste is sweet caramel malt, bread dough and a grassiness from the hops. Medium bitterness as well. Smooth, balanced and flavorful.

The beer poured a hazed dark golden orange with a light tan head that lasted a while. Aroma is honey, grass, citrus and weak caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is light grapefruit, grainy malt, and notes of light sweetness.

simple, clean, quality. Fresh clean hop flavor profile with a bit of nice lingering sediment on the bottom of your pint. A++++

Rated from notes taken 5 Jan 2013 and 6 Aug 2011 -- A very nice Pale Ale, that I would not mind drinking on a regular basis. Enough to make you want to drink it, restrained enough to allow you to drink several.

Bottle from Bierkompass.de. Amber, clear body, with a medum, creamy, slightly yellow head. Aroma of flowers, citrus, tangerine, some ropical fruits, grass, herbs, some candy. Taste with about the same aromas. Mouthfeel is light, slick, with a moderate carbonation and it finishes medium bitter, slightly dry, with lemon zest, grass, slight pine and some sweet malts. Nice one. A lighter version of their HopDevil, also with lots of grassy notes. Refreshing and easy to drink, but overall nothing special.

Good looking ale, pours out clear golden with a high rocky head. Piney, citrus hoppy nose, sharp hops rule the taste. Crisp, and tangy. Bitter finish.

Outstanding. This APA can seriously substitute as an alternative when I want something a little bit different but equally awesome to the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Plenty of hops, especially on the very dry finish. Very pleased.
