COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Bomber bottle. Clear golden with nice, slightly rocky head. Spicy slightly musty earthy nose. Earthy musty flavor, much more ’farm’house than traditional saison. Crisp with dryness that lingers in finish. Aftertaste is a bit too much.

Bottle. Clear gold with creamy white head. Aroma is yeasty bread esters, citrus fruit, barnyard grassy notes, floral notes, and light spice. Flavor is dry, bready malts with light spice and hop bitterness, and crisp citrus esters; flavorful, dry finish. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

From a bomber. Pours very hazy yellow gold with tiny visible particles and a bubbly, frothy off white head. Tastes like like musky lemon, malt, herbs, dry spices, lavender. Very dry feel. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like sweet yeast, doughy, floral, lemon.

I’ve been a fan of this for years. Great price for a nice, smooth farmhouse ale. Refreshing.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed May 10, 2013. Pours a somewhat hazy yet clear yellow/golden color and leaves the same colored body with a two finger white foamy head that dies immediately. There is some moderate clingy foamy lacing. The smell has some strong tones of coriander, black pepper, and grass appear are up front and some light maltiness comes in as more warming occurs with a super light funk. The taste is spicy yet somewhat malty and funky at the same time - wow, I like this. There is a light lemon in the aftertaste that leads to a dry finish. On the palate, it sits about a light to medium, comes across fairly sessionable - though I sipped it, one could really pound this if they wanted to. Its pretty smooth all around, big wow - never thought a saison could be this smooth. Carbonation seems spot for me but perhaps a bit under-carbonated for the style. Overall, the price was $3.50 for a bomber wow, great stuff would definitely have again.

A solid farmhouse ale. Great mixture if barley and floral ingredients. Golden pour with medium head depending on how fast you are trying to fill your glass! Cheers! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lite haze with a dense white head. This is all about lemon for me as that is the main characteristic I get in aroma and taste. Black pepper, yeast, and grassy hops. A nice saison, especially for $2.99/bomber.
