COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

To start off this SoB is a brett bomb: all kinds of rubbery like moldy lemons. Hazy yellow, decently active. Tart sweetness, though not sour. Also citrus and white pepper. Light and tangy, seems like this bomber will go on for awhile. Cool sun in a glass graphic is a nice touch. In the vein of other brettanomyces beers, only dialed back to approachable levels

Not My Style. Didn’t like the smell, and the beer was some funky stuff! I love Victory overall and this beer will have it’s fans, but I’m moving on...

Aromas of flowers, peppercorns, lemon peel, toast, and perfume. Slightly hazy, orange-gold, with a beautiful, well-retaining, pillowy, white head. Dry, bitter, tart, fruity, and funky. Medium bodied, carbonation is full and somewhat spicy, a complex ale that cleans up very well as it finishes, leaving behind fresh flowery and fruity flavors.

Bottle poured a bright yellow with orange hues, thin tan head, and minimal lacing. Aroma is big on lemon zest and floral notes. Taste begins with citrus and pepper followed by slightly funky yeast. Harsh aftertaste on each sip ruins an otherwise decent saison.

Farm funk cider. After several sniffs and sips, I get it. Super funky nose. Just a hint of malts and hops. The palate is a bit effervescent for my liking, but works fine for the beer. Flavor is funk, a bit of spice, big hop bitter. There is a lingering bitterness, that's slightly off fir me, but that's maybe just personal preference. There other 3 beer drinkers at the table gave it a thumbs down, so I got to drink the rest of the big bottle. Yay me! I enjoy this one for the obvious effort, and something different. Thanks Victory! -Fish!

On tap at the Untapped Festival. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma has quite a bit of wheat in it, as well as some Belgian yeast. The flavor has a few additional notes. I still get the wheat and biscuit malt, but I also get some nice white pepper notes, as well as some other spiciness - likely from the yeast. There is also a bit of alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2013 Thanks to Darrell for hipping me to this beer. The beer is a bit of a gusher, with a formidable white head. The aroma offers citrus, hops, brett, etc, very nice. Flavor follows suit. Light to medium in body and highly drinkinable. Delicious. $4 per bomber?!? Alrighty then. Absolutely worth a try. I look forward to revisiting this one.

Hop aroma w grapefruit and very faint saison yeast. Dark gold bordering on copper. Very bitter sour grapefruit flavor yet refreshing. Light carbonation, making malts poke through a bit too much ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

aroma like musky lemonade, in the best possible sense. really very nice with a mild barnyard brett funk and lemon peel and a bit of spice. flavor is crisp and bright with a hop bite at the end. malt takes a back seat to spicy yeast and lemony hops. medium thin body, very dry, slightly astringent. hops and funk work surprisingly well here.

Aroma is citrus and spicy yeast, almost like an imperial wit would have. The flavor is citrus, tropical fruit, heavy spices/yeast and a dryish finish.
