COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Aroma has lots of nice fruity esters and phenolics. The esters are lemony citrus and pear and the phenolics are coriander, clove and light peppercorn. Aroma is a bit bready but otherwise very nice. Pours a cloudy golden hay with a thick white head that retains some form throughout. Good lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly malty and bready with quite a bit of phenolics but the esters are lacking. There is a bit of a cider note and the bitterness is very sharp and kind of astringent. Nice dry phenolic finish. The bitterness is a bit too strong and overwhelms all else mid to late palate. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium full carbonation. The astringency is moderately high and alcohol warmth is low. Overall the aroma of this beer is deceiving. It invites you in and offers you fruit and spices but then hits you over the head with sharp hops. Tone down the bitterness and pick a different bittering hop and this would be really nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Spectacular golden color in the glass. Hay, grass and black pepper aroma. Crisp and dry on the palate. More black pepper in the flavor and some grassy herbal notes as well. Overall, a decent beer. Thanks to BarZigKin for sharing!

650ml bottle from Systembolaget. BBE 14 MAR 2015. Pours sligtly hazy, golden color, thick, quickly disappearing white head, lacing. Orange, citrus, mild barnyard notes and some mild spicyness, just an awesome aroma, so fruity. Flavor has orange, spices, belgian yeast, hops and again some faint barnyard notes. Dry, loong fruity finish. Topnotch saison. Crisp, fruity, refreshing. Glad I don’t have to share this bottle with anyone.

Bottle 650 ml. Somewhat hazy yellow with a big fluffy white head, some lacings. Aroma is yeasty and peppery touched with a fine citrus tone. Taste is herbal, citrus, peppery, yeasty and grassy. Medium body, medium carbo. The spicey flavours are somewhat dislocated from the rest and not quite on par with the complexity of a well balanced saison - still a good effort.

Riktigt riktigt bra.

Pint on tap. Clear, light yellow pour, with light lacing. Peachy funky smell, good taste, somewhat fruity, light fruits specifically. Light palate & bitterness. Very good beer, middle of the road as far as saisons go.
