UPDATED: JAN 16, 2014 Bottle into snifter glass, cloudy golden color with white head. Aroma of funky floral/fruity hops and slight pine note too. Taste is much more welcoming, very tropical fruit leaning (mango, pineapple) and some honey. Medium body, low carbonation, soft, cream, slick with smooth hoppy finish. I’ll admit the aroma was somewhat offputting with the funk but this IIPA more then makes up for it in taste, palate and finish. Great stuff.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, pineapple, apricots, sticky hops. Taste is sweet fruits, tropical, peach, pineapple, peach, apricots, some residual sweetness, pink grapefruit tones as well, sweet finish. Surprisingly pale for this strength, and not very bitter. Not bad though.

Had it on tap!! Pours a cloudy orange hue with a thin white head with a sour grapefruit aroma. The taste is super smooth for an Imperial "Guard" and tasty not overwhelming, notes of nuts(jk),grapefruit and mosaic hops. Victory is Ours!!!

Bottle, more than a month in date. Pale gold with a white head. Lots of bubbles. Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, mandarins. Quite sweet with peach and mango joining the other fruit. Plain hayish malt does little. Moderate bitterness as the fruit tails off. Some herbal and pine notes towards the end too. Presumably this has faded but it’s certainly hoppy. Rather dull though.

Pours a five finger white head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Almost clear pale amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit hop nose, flavor is tart grapefruit balanced with caramel. Higher ABV is hidden. $3.49 for a 12oz bottle at Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Amber color with a slight haze, thin, quickly-dissipating head. Floral and citrusy aroma. Smooth, balanced IIPA with pleasing bitterness. Hides the 9% ABV well.
