Tap East. Keg. Light haze on this amber beer, small off white head. Smooth and silky palate, slightly viscous. Fine carbonation. Smooth and slightly sweet malt, touch of caramel. Big piney hops with lesser tropical fruits and bitter aniseed. Floral bitterness. Finishes smooth and semi dry with a moderate peel bitter linger. Solid but compared to some of the UK brewed DIPAs of late, the US ain’t always top dog anymore.

Bottle. Poured clear amber color with an average to large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer that exceeded my expectations.

Peach and passion fruit and pineapple syrup aroma. Full bodied, sweet and syrupy with lingering acid and alcohol burning on the back while the tongue is left with a silt residue and suggestions of lime leaf. Hazed gold with a white head. From bottle.

My Bottom Line:
Lemongrass, kiwi and citrus fruit swirl around this Double IPA’s slender body, building an engaging example.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the translucent pale blond.
-Drinkability is rather high (for the style).
-Mouthfeel is slick and lean.
-This might not be as exemplary as their stellar DirtWolf, but it remains a very good Double IPA.

On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT.

Holy fuck this is good. Tropical fruit aroma flavor of grapefruit tropical punch. Gets sweet at times but otherwise a beast of a brew
