Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Poured a gold color that is very clear.Small off-white head.Small amount of lace. Not much on looks, but makes up for it in taste. The smell is of nice floral hops, with a malt backbone. Some earthy-pine tones also. The taste started off with a lemon-grass flavor, some pine accents in the middle, and hop bitterness and flavor in the finish. This is good, and I could drink it all night.

The color is light and golden, but surprisingly a little transparent. The aroma is hoppy and somewhat fruity. The fruit has citrus notes, lemon. Goes down pretty smooth.

Light golden pour with a nice white head. Aroma is spicy hops, fruit. Taste is hops, spicy hops with a little bitterness at the end. Sweet malt balances it out nicely. Nice lacing. I would rather drink this with a meal than by itself.

Bottle. Pours an orangey apricot color with a small foamy white head. Aromas of pine and citrus hops; pine sap, orange, and lemon zest. Also present is overripe mango, passion fruit, and guava; sweet and fruity. Flavor is bitter pine hops, like sap; fades to sweet tropical fruit. Bitter and sour hop finish. Medium carbonation and body, very smooth, with a dry finish. I like this very much, pleasantly but not overly bitter, very easy to drink, and the alcohol is hidden.

Bottle. Pours pale hazy golden with modest white head. This is at least the 3rd or 4th time I’ve had this beer, and I think I better understand it’s different from many. More like an imperial pilsner to my palate, perhaps because of the hop profile. More spicy and grassy than some. Interesting and different. I prefer the lighter, crisper Prima Pils, though.

This Beer is the King of Hop...I have nothing but good things to say about it. Leaves my mouth tingling and refreshed. Hint of Pineapple and spice. Very tasty!

Bottle - Golden with a white head. Grapefruit and pineapple feature in the aroma. The taste is crisp and hoppy with pineapple, grapefruit and a hint of lemon. It certainly doesn’t taste like it’s 8.5%. Easy to drink and fairly tasty, but nothing remarkable. I was expecting something slightly better.

Clear gold, thick foamy white head. Aroma of dank hops, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, lots of bitter and good amount of sweet. Taste is very bitter but with a decent amount of malt to balance. Body is a little thin, smooth carbonation. Finish is long and bitter.
