Commercial Description:
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop's hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o' barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the 'green gold' he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Very hazy orange amber. Gigantic citrus and resin hop aroma, but with a mouth-watering sweetness. Very zesty citrus and resin hop flavour. There’s certainly malt in here too, as there is a sweetness that tempers it nicely, but this truly is all about the noble hop, front and center. Finish is long and very bitter.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with white head. It has a fairly sweet malt backbone, and then the hops come alive. Strong hops citrus and grass flavors which leave a moderate lingering bitterness.

Another bottle courtesy of GMCC2181. Pours a clear golden with one finger creamy head and nice lacing. Nose is sweet grass and mellow grapefruit. Taste is sweet malt, light citrus and a nice resin bite in the finish. Medium, semi-creamy mouth feel. Really mellow for a DIPA, but very good. Thanks G-Unit!

Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a clear orange gold with lots of rising bubbles and a pillowy, creamy off-white head that marks its descent with a ladder of wispy lace. The nose is of floral and lightly citric hops backed by solid caramel malt and a touch of clean alcohol. Medium-bodied and creamy, the mouthfeel transitions to a lightly grainy, bitter finish. The flavor is a solid caramel malt front with a significant hit of resinous, floral and lightly citric hops that linger in a bitter aftertaste. If you’re a hop-head, this one will certainly satisfy your need for a fix. If you’re looking for superior flavor and balance, from an IPA, however, Victory’s Hop Devil is probably the better choice. Despite that, this is still a very enjoyable brew.

Bottle poured golden orange with a diminishing head. Smell is primarily grassy hops with some citrus hops coming through. Flavor is mainly hops with a little malt to add some balance. Finish is very bitter. Overall I really enjoyed this beer.
