COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horace ‘Hop’ Wallop headed West a broken man. For it was a certain Miss LuLubelle Lager that had left him, thirsting for more. Drawn by wild tales of the riches of the gold mines, Hop pressed on westward. His last nickel spent on a prospecting pan, Hop’s hunger and thirst got the best of him. Two fistfuls o’ barley and three of some wild and wayward hops tossed in the pan with some clear water was to be his meal. But sleep overcame him and he woke to a bubbling, cacophonous concoction. Overjoyed with the beautiful ale that he had made, Hop realized the secret of the ’green gold’ he had discovered in those fresh hops. Celebrated far and wide, Hop Wallop lives on in this vivid ale with his words, "hoppiness is happiness." As our annual homage to the fresh hop harvest, Hop Wallop is a fragrant experience that delights the tastebuds. Pure gold of color, this ale offers its heady bounty of hops to the adventurous of taste. Bold, bracing and surprisingly refreshing for a strong (8.5% a.b.v.) ale, Hop Wallop lives up to its name and legacy.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Name says it all. Very hoppy, focused on earthier tones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a cloudy honey color. Large white head. Balanced aroma of pine hops. Very nice lacing. Flavor is nicely balanced between bitter hops, citrus, and a little caramel. Good solid palate. Nice mild bitter citrus mouthfeel. Another good Victory brew. Bought this as a single, but certainly would buy more if I see it in this area.

This is a wonderfully balanced double IPA, piney hops and honeytoffe malts, but the corn sugar smack comes through especially with shelf life. Still a great drinkable IPA that hides the abv well

12oz founders snifter glass, you know the drill. Nose isn’t not as expressive as one would hope. Kinda smells like tap water. Pours a beautiful clear standard ipa copperish slight orange color. Nice frothy head. Wonderful hoppy flavors with a good malt backbone. Nice solid body. Overall, one I always enjoy.

Pours clear golden brown with a frothy white head. Strong grapefruit aroma. Good lacing. Carmel bitter flavor. Surprisingly balanced for a imperial IPA.

Pours clear gold with good head retention. Bouquet is floral with golden Graham's, honey, bath water and slightly medicinal. Medium bodied and overly bitter. Long chalky aftertaste, citrus nose. Syrupy honeyed malts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I can’t believe its taken me this long to finally try this beer. Been waiting, what, 10 years? Golden color, thin but firm head. Nose is a combo of citrus and dank hops, honeyed malts. Flavor almost balanced between a lightly sweet but crisp malt and the resiny hop flavors, but at the end it takes a big bitter turn, bracing and clean. Its really well built.

Bottle. I might have ratted this higher if it hadn't been med hop wallop. I was not knocked over by hoppyness at all. Decent IPA but that is all.

Bottle->mug. Honey color with frothy offwhite head. Aroma: good balance of citrus, floral, and piney hops. Taste is very hoppy bitter pine. Good, but not great.

Pours a hazy, light orange with off white head. If I look close enough I see lots of very small particles floating around. Aroma is yeast, some spice, alcohol and pine (I think). I am a little congested but the hoppiness isn’t very strong in the nose. This smells more like a Belgian than a DIPA but once I take a sip the hops are immediately evident. The taste is bitter but there is a little sweet malt hiding in there somewhere but the bitterness takes over and lingers for a while. Medium bodied. Decent beer but I prefer the west coast style.
