dpjuart (555), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 14, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours golden yellow with a white head, about a finger, leaving a bit of lacing. Nose is all hops, citrus and floral. Hop flavor isn’t "knock-your-socks-off" in your face, but rather subtle, which is quickly overtaken by a huge hop bitterness from the middle to and through the finish well into the after. Sticky and resiny. Somehow there’s enough malt for some balance, but not too much. Mouthfeel is good, lacing/head retention is nice. Good fruity quality throughout. There’s some odd taste to this beer, guess it’s the fresh earthiness of the fresh hops. good offering from Victory.
Magic_dave6 (3752), London, Greater London, England Sep 1, 2008 Bottle at the Twickenham Tasting. Aroma is yee haa, bitter, hoppy, citrus goodness. Taste is similarly awsome, exactly what i want in an iipa. Acknud (592), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Aug 23, 2008 Nice pour...amber/golden with a leggy head. Aroma is like walking though a pine
woods. Taste is definitely hops with a touch of sweet malt. Needs to have a bigger mouthfeel to put it with the big dogs. amc3000 (43), houston, Texas, USA Aug 22, 2008 draft @ petrol station.
smoother than the bottle. very nice aroma and color.
hops are a little much , but it is called hop wallop! victory tends to brew high end beers in my opinion, but this beer seems to be riding the hop train in danger of going off the rails.
nqualls (203), Tennessee, USA Aug 17, 2008 Six pack of 12 ozers at Frugal MacDoogal’s in Charlotte. Poured a clear gold color with a two finger white head, into an english pint glass. Aroma was yeasty and a little malt. Flavor was sweet fruit up front, with a lingering bitter bite. Medium body with average carbonation. Really enjoyed this beer. Trev (502), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Aug 9, 2008 Pours a clear medium gold with a thick white head. Medium hop aroma of herbal and citrus hop. Backed by sweet toffee and caramel malt tones.
A tart fruitiness in the flavour. Medicinal-herbal hop. Firm malt body and a grassy bitterness in the finish. Some lingering alc as well.
