3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ejay (58) - SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2011
Bottle 19/8-11. Aroma is malty of figs, metal and faint citrus. Hazy amber color w small head. Flavor is very bitter with resin and also quite malty and roasted taste for an IPA. Medium body w oily texture. I’m a bit disappointed since I expected more from it, there was nothing to counter the bitterness I think. Either I don’t like this style of IPA or there was something wrong with my bottle. I should probably try it again some other time.

Bought a keg and loved it. A great example of an American IPA. I love the aromatic hops.

Another ipa... this one is a east coast style... and by that I mean it is heavy on the malt while still having the hop presence required. Slightly above average, although this one may not be too fresh.

Bottle. Grassy, wet hop aroma, citrus, light malts. cloudy amber with a low head. Medium caramel malts, slightly earthy, citrus, grass. Big bitter finish. Clean and tasty. Good old style American IPA. Great body; full but crisp.

It poured a copper-brown color with a small white head. The aroma was grassy with herbal and pine present. The taste was citrus-grapefruit with a bitter hop finish in the background. A decent IPA.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 FaithHealer1 (157) - SCOTLAND - AUG 31, 2011
Keg at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a clear copper, half a finger of head. Aroma is great, hops with tropical fruits, pine resin and caramel notes. Taste is very good too, starting with caramel with the fruity notes, before the bitter hop character takes over. Brilliantly balanced between the sweeter, more complex notes and the bitter elements. Ling bitter finish. Just lovely. Mmm.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2012 Note... I’ve had this beer a hundred times... BUT ... this was straight from the bottling tank at Victory’s Brewery back in 2007...
A: Characterized by a blurry copper hue with a cream-white head that holds well.
S: Can you say hops? They certainly take center stage, but the sweet and spicy malt aroma is not to be forgotten.
T: Strong. Unapologetic. This is a full scale, in your face, citric hop blast. Similarly to the aromas, there are malts here, and they keep the beer as balanced as possible given the tons of hops here!
M: Smooth and creamy with just about the perfect amount of carbonation.
O: Among the most drinkable IPA’s out there... this just keeps going and going and going down the throat... not for the faint of heart!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ret12 (207) - Maryland, USA - AUG 26, 2011
This is one of the hoppiest beers I’ve ever had. Very citrusy piney taste. Aroma is great and taste is very pleasing, for hop fans only.
