3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bjt512 (292) - Athens, Georgia, USA - MAY 11, 2011
Poured into a snifter from a 12 oz bottle dated "enjoy by 6.21.2011." Beer gave a lively pour, raising a pillowy 1.5-finger head that quickly dissipated to a ring and lots of lacing. I’m guessing this is a bit on in age, as yeast overpowers hops in the aroma (and we’re only a month from the expiration date). Flavor is deliciously typical of the style and nicely balanced, although there is a touch too much lemon-grapefruit and not enough complexity in the finish for my taste. That’s a quibble, though. All in all, this is a nice beer and a good example of the style.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Kriegbaum (616) - Randers, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2011
Bottle 12 oz. Orange yellow pour with a medium off white head. The smell is most grapefruit and citrus hops after. The taste is nicely balanced without being overhumlet. Dry mouthfeel and a long lovely finish. Estimates IPA.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 cyrenaica (745) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2011
12oz bottle
6.7% ABV
I tried this beer on April 15, 2011 at "The Beerbistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer pours a hazy golden orange with a 1/2" creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was citrusy hops, pine, and some caramel malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was grapefruit, orange, and caramel with a dry finish.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 3, 2011
10/9/10/10/12/11
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 oobawa (549) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 2, 2011
Awesome East Coast IPA, full of hop resin and citrus-laced goodness. Been a while since I’ve drank Hop Devil, and now I want to run out and grab a sixer. Layers of orange marmalade and lemon zest pile on top of pine straw and pepper, with a little hop-faced Satan smiling down on all the blasphemous goodness. The finish is long and bitter yet also citric and mildly sweet, lovely in its clinging complexity. Formidable brew amongst the onslaught of good IPAs currently available.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 p1meatloaf (208) - California, USA - MAY 1, 2011
1 finger of white soapy head. orange and very clear. carmel roasty and hoppy smell. strong carmel malt and not too much bitterness. citrus and other spices. maybe a bad batch, not saying its bad, but this version it shouldnt be an IPA. I have had it before and was much happier. the strong carmel malts outweigh the hops. overall 7 out of 10
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Finhead (654) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2011
A reddish-orange pour with an off-white head. The aroma is very hoppy, but there is also a spicy element. The medium body has smooth texture with some lively average carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with some faint spice and an easy finish. Its nice that they didn’t go crazy with the hops.
