Very good, high quality IPA. Great rich, dark color and nice foamy head. One of the best IPA's I've had!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottled, found in Safeways in the UK) Lovely bright clear beer, very hoppy as the name suggests, initially too bitter for my tastes but the flavo(u)r grew on me, a nice beer for drinking by the fire in the winter reading the paper

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice copper IPA with a lot of hop aroma and flavor. Seems like they used a bunch of different hops as you get a little citrus, pine, spice, and grassiness with each different whiff. A good brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at RFD in DC. Copper hue with a large frothy head, good lacing, light to medium-bodied. Heavy hoppy aroma of flowers, pine, and grapefruit. Additionally initial heavy bitter flavor with a citrusy bite. Dry and lively mouthfeel with a metallic feel. A hop head beer, I found it a bit too one-diminsional.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2003 Nice golden color and decent head. A very balanced IPA with a delicate play between sweet and bitter. I wish the palate was a little more alive but other than that this is a first class IPA. Recommended! The only other downer is with a name like "Hop Devil" I thought it would have more of a hop hit to it.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2004 Bottle: What a fantastic brew! The beer is a amber (maybe orangish) color, with a quick-dissapating head. The aroma is fantastic. The hops are strong. Fairly good whiff of grapefruit/citrus to it. The taste is equally good. The hops are VERY strong, but there is an exquisite balance to them. They aren't strong for the sake of being strong. Decent amount of body to the beer. I had this with a friend the other night, and his initial reaction was "WOW".
Had this on Draught at Victory. It was a CASK version. I won't change my rating due to the availability of this, but if you are in the area, check and see if they have some of this. It was superb. Even more refined than the original.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2003 One of my favorite IPAs. Hoppy taste with some hints of citrus/fruit. Poured with a decent sized head that left a good lacing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden orange hue with a medium-sized head which is gone very quick. Fruity aroma of grapefruit and apple cider. Strong bite along with a strong fruit cover, nice pleasent hop finish is just a tad bit under what I consider bitter. I was disappointed with this IPA. It is liked so well on RateBeer, but is a middle-of-the-pack IPA in my book.

One of my newest favorites. Great fruity and bitter taste and not too sweet. Highly recommended.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Really good combiantion of malt & hops, with the hops being the dominant factor. It poured from the bottle with a really nice head that left good lacing. This is a really well done IPA. Live it, Love it, Drink it!
