UPDATED: NOV 10, 2009 Updated review: I didnít understand beer when I wrote this. Now I really like this beer.
Well, this is actually my FIRST India Pale Ale. And since it got such good reviews I canít help but think it must be the style of beer rather than Victoryís brew. That being said, I truly hated the taste of this beer. Strong, spicy, bitter, and vastly overpowering.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2006 If you like hops, this beer does what itís aiming for. Fresh foresty aroma, nice colour and medium-sized beige head. The taste threatens a severe astringency at first, but turns out to be a quite complex with some sweetness and very dry aftertaste that sticks to your tongue. The body was a bit thin for my liking. Good with salty foods.

Strange things in thsi beer: Bacon and blue cheese tones. Lots of cascade hops, sweetness and a bitterness that could kill a horse. Woohaa.

Nice off-white head with medium carbonation. Great colour. Big hop nose. Wow! Crazy hop taste. Iím gonna be tasting that for days, and loving every second of it. Dry, so dry. Get me another one to wash it down.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2009 Another great brew from Victory. I havenít had a bad beer from them yet, and this is no exception. Hopdevil has a great hoppy taste, and aroma, and is quite bitter. Like other hopheads, I enjoyed the bitterness of this one more than other IPAís. Itís hard to give a rating on the appearance, because it was kind of cloudy, but thats the way a good American IPA should be right? Incredibly drinkable for being so strong in alcohol. The alcohol is not apparent at all however. I always get this one fresh from the distributer, and I have never been disappointed with this one.

Great hoppy beer. Victory is the best micro brewer on the east coast.
