COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

Hazy amber color, nice off-white head. Very full aroma, malt, hops, bread, fruit and nut. Excellent! Flavor is quite hoppy, but not as hoppy as expected! Is has lots of other different flavors: rosted malt, nut, spices and pebber. Hopefully I will find this beer on tap when I travel to the US this summer!! It is absolutely excellent!!

Clear amber body wearing a thin sticky off-white head. Aroma is bready, toasty not unlike a good pilsner's, but with a huge cascade profile (grapefruit, orange) and traces of earth and honey. Taste is typicla to high alpha-acid hops IPA, very lemony, grapefruity. A tart and bitter mix with no stand out quality. Body is clean, rather thin with a biting carbonation. Overrated from my perspective, not even among my favorite half of the style I believe, but the aroma is good and quite complex. Thanks to The_Beer_God though!

A lighter look with a good off-white head. There was a strong citrus hoppy flavor. The finish was bitter, hoppy, fizzy, and dry

Fantastic copper colour with creamy tan head. Releases citric hops-a-plenty even from a few feet away. Nice. First sip is like walking into a pine forest where there happens to be a bread baker eating grapefuit. Very dry finish with a subtle bitterness lingering after the slightly sweet mouthfeel has left. Definitely a well-crafted and eminently drinkable beer.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 12, 2004
12 oz bottle, shaker glass. Pine, citrus (lime/grapefruit), flower hops (M), cookie malt (L). Slightly hazy, deep red-brown body with a tight, creamy, eggshell head that's slowly diminishing. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavor becomes a heavliy bitter, lightly acidic finish. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: not too much to separate from a host of IPAs except that it's just extrememly well fashioned.

foamy tan head. loose and oily lookin' well carbonated, transluscent amber body. Ripe, fruity nose with wonderful sweet creamy maltiness. alcohol and hints of cereal grains. floral and resinous, woody and dry. apple and mint emerge yielding to a sweet, fruity dry finish. solid alcohol presence. I really like this interpretation of an IPA as compared to so many of the intensely hoppy west coasters. I just envision this as a happy medium between England and the great Pacific Northwest.

Copper coloured with an offwhite head. Aromas of freshly cut pine boughs, triple-mix and maple syrup. The hop bitterness makes a slow, calculated attack. It is initially in the forefront but is quickly subdued by malt. It then returns with an earthy bitterness similar to that of white peppercorns followed by a discernible floral hop prescence. The finish is dry and satiating.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2004 Sample: Bottle - Great Aroma, pours a deep mahogony red, almost brown. Fair head, and excellent lacing. Strong hop flavors, balanced perfectly with some unique malts. I am glad this beer has become so popular, as that makes it rather avalable for such a great beer.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2004 This is one amazing beer! There must be a barrel of hops in each bottle. Aroma is hops. Flavor is you guessed it hops! The Beer is a nice copper color with a off white head. This is one of those beers you could put in you top 5 of all time.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 [bottle] Pours a deep amber color with a very thick and lasting tan head. Nice strong hoppy aroma. Good strong initial taste with a great tangy hop bite, followed up with a slight malt undertone that gives way to a smooth and hoppy finish that leaves a nice bitter aftertaste. [[100th Rating]]
