Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

Appearance is reddish orange. Aroma is citrus and melons. Flavor is hoppy with some pine and tangerine flavor. Thanks to scoobyluv for providing me with this fine IPA. A good selection for #400.

Bottle. Copper color with a large, creamy head that lasts well. Aroma of delicious caramel malts and assertive hops - grapefruit and pine. Nicely balanced, sweet malty backbone, big hop flavor and spicy finish. Medium body with perky carbonation.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2007 Nice ruby color. Aroma is Hops, slight malt, slightly fruity. Starts out quite bitter with a peppery? undertone. Smoothes out to a nice dry hoppy finish. really pleasant brew especially if you Love Em Hoppy!

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2006 Rich golden-red color with a filmy, grayish off-white head. Somewhat fleeting spicy hop nose with herbal and earthy qualities. Aroma also has a warm, toasted, biscuity malt underbelly. Flavor is considerably malty for an IPA with characters of tea and cake. Finishes with somewhat rough and woody, medium-high bitterness. I’ve had this beer numerous times and in multiple incarnations—fresh bottles, aged bottles, draught, and on cask. One of my standby go-to beers due in equal parts to prevalence and quality. This is the flag-bearer among East-Coast IPAs.

Dark copper with a white head. Nose is floral hops, taste is floral and citrus hops on a strong malt background. I'm not a hophead (yet) but beers like this might change my mind.

Very interesting beer... Pours a deep copper color with nice head and good lacing. Interestingly, it's not really hoppy tasting at first but there's a serious kick in the back - plenty of hops there but they sneak up on you. Strong citrus flavor as well. Mouthfeel is full and creamy with a crisp finish. Drinkability is quite good, I wish it wasn't so hard to find these around here.

one of my favorite american ipas. very hoppy, but with a great 'beer' taste too (!) esp when it warms. doesn't taste it's strength either so watch out!

A hop head delight! Much more bitter than most IPA's I have tried. A unique taste but not for the faint of hops heart

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2003 This is a deep amber colored beer with a few more spice notes than most IPA's that I enjoy. More body than most as well with that wonderful hoppy bite that all good ones have. It finishes well, but does not have an incredibly long finish. Good bitterness with a surprising sweetness on the back of your tongue... I can't place the flavor... maybe 5 or 6 more will help me pinpoint it. A good solid beer from what has proven to me so far to be a solid brewery.
