COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

Where are the hops, what is this maybe 20 I.B.U.ís? Just kidding, given the name you know going into it that it is going to be hoppy. The question is how will it drink? Very smoothly, this is a hopheads dream come true.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2005 [as with their other beer, quality has suffered as of late] This is the best IPA Iíve had in a long time. The color is perfect, and the hops melt perfectly into the overall flavor of the beer, rather than overpowering it like in most other IPAs. My only complaint is that it doesnít smell nearly as good as it tastes.

This is some great beer!!! It has incredible hoppiness, yet incredible smoothness. This beer has so much flavor - my mouth waters at the thought of having another.

Should be know as íRed Devilí. Unbelievable red color. Clear crisp and blasting with redness! I was so taken back by the incredible color I forgot to discuss the aroma. Almost a cherry aroma with a minty aftertaste. Nice bitter flvor with very little sweetness. Complex, bold, intense, exceptional, outstanding. Crazy with flavor. I can only imagine the draft of this. I canít wait for another! This is my kind of beer.

All tasting notes on fresh samples (most recent was íBest by 12-02í): Phenomenal, accessible, hop-crazy and oh-so-aromatic; extremely consistent of late (must be that new bottling plant!). Ever had Sierra Nevadaís Celebration Ale? This is almost identical; excepting a slight insubstantiality in the malt profile. Because I cannot identify the name of hops by flavor, Iíll assume thereís Cascade in there, simply because of the similarity to Celebration. In the past 18 months, the most outrageous, flowery, stingingly hoppy IPA around; again, dead-on consistent, batch to batch, never caustic or harshly bitter. Wow.

Amber colored with a nice head that fades down to a small soapy layer. Leaves a very nice lace on the glass. Sweet, flowery nose that is intense and bold. A taste and...Wow. This beer is amazing. I donít usually like pales this much. I saw it on the top beers list and decided to try it. One of the better decisions iíve made in life. The intense hoppyness is balanced with malt better than any pale that has passed my palate. Has a creamy, vanilla quality to the flavor that iíve never experienced in a pale. The light carbonation adds to the effect. Hops tinge on the finish. This certainly is one of the best beers iíve ever tasted and certainly the best pale iíve ever tasted. This will be the mark by wich all other pales are judged.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2003 Clear amber color, tan head which dissipates to a nice clingy lace. Aroma is hoppy, citrus & pine aplenty. Initial light malt sweetness gets clobbered by a hops bitterness that lingers on.

Iíve seen this mature over the month that it took me to consume my case of it. Enormous Hop aroma that has some excellent caramel malt that seems slighty roasted behind it. This is exceptionally well balanced beer covers a lot of the outrageous hop tastes till the end where you get nailed. its got a dry pine cone taste to it. Absolutelly outstanding. My favorite IPA.

Ok, what a surprise when I noticed hops in the aroma. Go figure. Nice reddish amber hue, head dissipated quickly. Will have to try again 1st instead of 5th. Liked it everytime Iíve ordered it. You must try it on cask if you can find it.
