3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Grima (1240) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2010
bottle from bierzwerg!
The beer in glass is reddish-yellow with a lot of foam. Smells very strong and hoppy bitter. Starts very hoppy and bitter. Almost a pity that such a beer in Germany is hardly available. The aftertaste is earthy, spicy and very much still dominated by the great bitter hops, which are (thankfully) extends a very long time.

"Menacingly delicious"? Believe it. On tap at Union Brewhouse. A regular mouthful of hops, in a good way.

Pours a deep copper color with hints of red, with a rich off-white head. Big time aroma of hops and caramel. Flavor packs a punch with both robust bitterness throughout, along with a lot malt including some light chocolate flavor. Overall, solid flavorful beer.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Ryan_beer (1) - USA - DEC 18, 2010 does not count
Drinking out of a sixtel; it taps perfectly with a nice sized head that reduces to a thin head that sticks around. Nice deep amber color. Strong hop flavor with a nice bitter hit a few seconds after sipping. Nice floral/citrusy nose. Flavor gets better as it warms in the glass. Price is about average for a tasty craft beer; paid $70 for a sixtel. It leaves you wanting another once you finish.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TET (685) - FINLAND - DEC 16, 2010
Copperbrown beer with medium and beige head. Typical and balanced aroma, fructose sweetness, tropical fruits and pine needles.Flavour is strongly bitter, pine forest, fruits, light sweetness, long and even slightly resin in the aftertaste. Slippery and pleasant to drink. Piney beer with enough sweetness; high-quality beer, but I would like to more sweetness and fruitfull freshness. Anyway, great IPA.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 SPDickerman (326) - Texas, USA - DEC 16, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 19, 2011 Pours hazy orange with off-white head. Smells strongly of American hops. Tastes strongly bitter with very faint sourness and citrus flavor. Medium-bodied with a not thick, not thin texture and average mouth carbonation, HopDevil has a lasting finish that is a little spicy and bitter and dry.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 AMBeer (15) - USA - DEC 13, 2010
12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy copper with a thin, white head.
Aroma is malty. Citrusy. I’m not getting a lot hops.
Taste is a pleasant malty-ness. Grapefruit and orange peel in the middle. A little peach. Finishes with a nice hop kick. Notes of citrus.
Slightly creamy. Drinkabilitiy can be a little better. (Due to the creaminess and the ABV being in the "middle" range.)
Overall, this brew is worthy of a try but I wouldn’t go above and beyond to acquire it. With a name like "Hop Devil," I expected something with more hops. Hop Devil is more of a malty IPA. The only other IPA (Well, its a double IPA) I had from Victory was the "Hop Wallop" and that brew was great, IMO. I was kind of holding this to that first impression I had of Victory.
