Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2003 Poured out of bottle, bought at Hopleaf bar in Chicago, 5/3/03. Tight head dissipates to a thin whisp relatively quickly. Pours to a slightly murky amber hue; very nice to look at. Subtle aroma, barely there, and then the extremely bitter hops hit you with a zing almost immediately upon sipping. Medium-to-full body, silky smooth with strong flavor that opens up a bit on the aftertaste; hint of a grapefruit flavor, very long hoppy finish. Probably the hoppiest beer I've tried. Warm feeling, but only a slight taste of alcohol. Very nice alcohol masking considering the ABV % (6.7).

Sweet citrus/pine hop aroma backed by some caramel, yellow cake. Smells similar to a light barley wine. Sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Smooth.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2012 Draft and cask and bottle, Iíve had it all ... Perfect amber color with a shiny dark orange sheen and a head that will last 30 minutes. Bready nose with a hop flower essence. Drinks with an intensely floral hop blast to the palate. May be a tad bit too sharp and cheesy for some, but I find this to be an excellent beer. Itís easily in my wifeís top 5 of all time, and I may have the hop devil tattooed to my calf I love it so much. (On cask, the beer was cloudier and smoother).

This is simply put by saying "well balance and enjoyable" Tasty brew that is so nice and smooth with a nice hop finish and almost a creamy carbonation to it.

This is it for me. My all-time favorite beer. I never get tired of it. Great color. Wonderful hop nose. Tremendous balance. Simply world class.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2005 Didnít mean to rate this so high, but if you rate it by the categories above, it is a winner. Almost Belgian-like, but with more hops. Really well balanced. Amber golden brown, fresh tasting, with a creamy finish. The more I drink, the better it gets Rerate 073105: Unlike the new version of Storm King, this is just as good as it used to be. Sweet double IPA like nose, taste and mouthfeel, but without the overly hopped bite. Creamy and smooth. A little syrupy with lots of crystal malt Very nice.

Smells so good when you first pour it and the first taste is great. Smooth refreshing taste...nice bitterness with a sweet citrus twist as well.

Slightly hazy amber. Diminishing head. Spotty lace. Aroma, as expected, is hoppy as all fuck. Strong grapefruit/citrus notes. Full mouthfeel punctuated by soft carbonation. I was pleasantly surprised there's enough malt here to survive the onslaught of hops. More citrus than pine, which is a good thing in my book. A straightforward and impressive American IPA.
