Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

Tried it as my first beer this time and not after four hours of beer tasting. I like a hoppy beer and definitely rate this beer #1.

this is an irish-setter rusty amber beer, with a lather of tallow colored foam that makes it as appealing as a check in the mail. appropriately named beer: itís true that i experienced unchaste thoughts, greed and gluttony whilst draining this beverage--but then, to me, these are savored and quotidian carnalities. i mean of course that itís appropriate to have "hop" in the name of a beer that screams "hops" in a strident language that ears are deaf to, but is nonetheless resounding to nose and palate. my translation is rough because my nose isnít as fluent as iíd like, but itís something about how hops make our lives better, along with reference to oranges and pine and alcohol and even some old spice aftershave--something too about blithely selling our souls to beelzebub for bodacious beers-- but my aroma dictionary is out on loan at the moment so i canít be sure. be assured that it IS full, dry, and scintillating. great in any language.

A very aggressive beer, but not too strong. Where most beers would go overboard with flavor. This one walks the line without going over into the land of bad things.

I typically am not at all a fan of IPAís. Extremely hoppy beers turn me off. This was an extremely hoppy beer but mysteriously I loved it. I found it to be bold yet not overpowering. Great balance of hops and malt, all IPAís should taste like this.

Nice balance between hops and malt. Definite Cascade character, citrusy, etc. Evident bitterness at the end. Enjoyable and a good example of the style.

Slightly citrusy aroma, but mostly pine, resin. Spicy hops dominate, quite bitter with little sweetness. The malt is pretty far behind at the finish line, but still comes through a bit. Nice beer burps, and a thoroughly decent aftertaste.

The nose is super hoppy and fruity. The palate is rich, smooth, and packed with hops. The is a very BIG IPA that is well balanced. The malt level is high enough to smooth out the hops. Bravo. <a href='http://www.victorybeer.com/'>Vict

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2006 Copper liquid atop a magnificent creamy, well retained foam. Rye, pepper, graham, pine, toasted malts, and medicine aroma. Leaning toward the English style. Full bodied. Flavors match the aroma perfectly. The abundance of malts only allow the grapefruit to remain an undertone. Alcohol becomes more evident as it warms. Oh so balanced. Finishes medicinal with tons of crystal sweetness and rye-like breadiness. This separates itself nicely from being another predicatble/redundant IPA. Note: Seems to have steadily gone downhill in comparison to early versions, as itís displaying more slick fruitiness and less hop brightness, fizzier carbonation, lots of Vitamin B in the flavor, and quite metallic.

MMMMMM, sweet hops. Huge hops taste, giving it a nice floral taste that is very crisp. Simply excellent.

Bottle. An amber color with minimal head. A hoppy floral fruity aroma. I love IPAs with character and body.
