4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Chronoflash (76) - New York, USA - MAY 7, 2010
A rich, wheat colored head with some persistence, over a translucent amber to reddish copper body . A medium high piney hop aroma that takes precedence over time, mingling with malty, caramel, and brown sugar notes and a hint of alcoholic sting. A medium-high bodied mouthfeel, heavy for the style, made moreso with the creamy vitality of the froth. She comes in smooth and sweet, a pretty malty taste, with the character of resinous grain (cereal/bread) and caramel. High hop bitterness on the finish that coats the mouth long after the drink, and persists after the medium booziness of the brew fades and the hop taste (medium-high piney and resinous) subsides. A wonderful brew. A bit malty for the style, though I understand attempting to balance the deep bitterness.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 vicepeddler (24) - Broomfield, USA - MAY 7, 2010
Pours a beautiful orange amber hue with a firm off white head. BIG bright pine and citrus on the nose. Assertive, piney citrussy hop character hits the palate firmly with a very crisp yet resinous feel on the palate. Powerful grapefruit and citrus flavors finish cleanly and well balanced. This is an exceptional American style IPA.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 elpresidente19 (30) - Colorado, USA - MAY 7, 2010
Aroma- citrus fruit and pine, definitely some lemongrass and orange as well.
App- Pours a hazy amber orange with a white pillowy head. Good retention and lacing.
Taste- Wow. Lots of pine and grapefruit, but a very nice malt backbone.
Overall I really enjoyed this IPA. Sessionable and aggressive at the same time.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 synn (21) - brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 4, 2010
bottle - Hazy orange almost red color towards the top, big white foamy head. good retention and lacing. smells of sweet citrus, orange, lemon grass, pine, maybe caramel. medium-full body with medium carbonation, perfect for my taste. Taste is orange, apple, caramel, plenty of hops and a bit malty towards the bottom. Very little bitterness in this delicate IPA. Easy to drink and I absolutely love it.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DrinkEmUpJones (540) - Georgia, USA - MAY 3, 2010
Amber colored with a light aroma of grapefruit and grass. Lightly biter with a medium-bodied mouthfeel.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 AJofDenver (71) - Colorado, USA - APR 29, 2010
A dark orange almost amber like liquid coats the glass with hints of orange. The aroma is intense and spicy on the finish. The taste attacks the tongue with a sweet start and a spicy almost burning feeling towards the end. A great IPA has the characteristics that set IPAs away from the rest-intense flavors balanced with great aromas!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 RPKLove (105) - Astoria, New York, USA - APR 26, 2010
Appearance is beautiful hazy brown with a frothy tan head tan. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and some raisin in addition to hops. Full-bodied, with bitter hops and sweet malts on the palate. Has a thick texture for an IPA, but i find the flavor a little thin. Has never been my first choice, but all in all a good ipa.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 madvike (1298) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 25, 2010
Bottle - Nice amber pour with a big foamy white head. Smells sweet, with toffee intermingling with sweet malt, feet, cheese, and some citrusy hops. Big and sweet in the mouth, with toffee and a bitter, grassy hop finish. There’s a metallic taste in there, too. It’s real fizzy and watery, light-bodied where I wouldn’t expect it to be. Not impressed with this one--just felt off.
