3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ExpendableHero (518) - Florida, USA - APR 3, 2010
Rich orange/gold colored brew. Minimal white head that dissipates quite rapidly. The scent is refreshing, one of citrus and tropical fruit. The taste is very crisp and refreshing, tastes like citrus with some other assorted fruit flavors. In my opinion it tastes more like fruit than other IPAs. Pleasant overall, smooth mouth feel and very hoppy.

Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is citrusy, piny, resiny hops. The flavor is citrus and tropical fruit, with a huge resiny bitterness, along with a little bit of caramel maltiness in the backbone. Pretty good.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Boliv (964) - New York, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Bottle. Pours deep orange and red, hazy, with some debris floating around and a small creamy off-white head. Aroma is of pine and grass hops with some slight citrus, as well as caramel. Flavor is bitter pine sap and resinous hops, toffee, and dough. Medium carbonation and body, creamy mouthfeel, and a little sticky. Nice thick white sheets of lacing remain on the glass. This is a really good beer, nice and bitter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hamrech (131) - Carbondale, Illinois, USA - MAR 21, 2010
Maybe I just got spoiled by the Mikkeller IPAs last night but to me this Hop Devil is sort of bland. It’s good, no question, definitely above average, but the taste seems to be just hops and a bit of "smoky" character or something. Slightly "dirty", but in a good way. Interesting brew, but leaves something to be desired. Hop Wallop is better by a wide margin.
