COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

Light orange body and decent head. Very citrusy, spicy, piney notes, and all supported by a full and vibrant palate. Excellent beer

Bottle from Utobeer market stall. Clear reddish-brown pour with a white head. Aromas of herbs, grass, nuts, heather. Flavours of caramel, herbs, a little fruit. Very subtle flavour. You can feel the hops in there but it’s very subtle. Finishes nutty and mildly hoppy. Interesting.

Bottled. Pours medium amber in color. Aroma has some hops and malts. Slight sweetness as well. Doesn’t smell like the hop monster I expected. Lots of hops up front. Lots of malt too. Some roastiness. Great balance of malts and hops. Certainly good stuff.

Smells of hard pine and lemon/lime pith with some sugar. Flavor is overwhelming bitterness that thankfully fizzles out pretty quickly leaving behind the one note flavor of slightly less bitterness. Finishes with alcohol. Mouthfeel is nice and even leaving a slight film. Really unbalanced to the point where I think it’s intentional on this one. Come on down and suck on a pine cone dipped in rubbing alcohol. Not good overall but a really good brewery in my opinion so try some of their other stuff. Thanks Victory. 2009 12 oz.

I’m an admitted hophead so this is right up my alley. Nice off white head and slight haze make this an attractive ale. The spice up front giving way to the bitter citrus make this an overall great beer. A victory for Victory.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2011 Pours an amber red haze with not much life, and a thin head. Aroma is a lovely hoppy, floral bouquet. Wow, what a taste. A sweet, citrusy start, creamy, then the bitters kick in. Medium to fully body, well balanced. This is a very tasy IPA.

Light orange body and decent head. Very citrusy, spicy, piney notes, and all supported by a full and vibrant palate. This excellent beer is very similar to Smuttynose IPA.
