Bottle ours copperish-blond with frothy white head. Aroma of leather, spruce. Fairly high malt content. Long lasting bitterness. Medium bodied. Decent IPA but not as good as some of their others.

From bottle. Pours orange/amber thin nearly no head. Bice floral citrus hop aroma. Taste has a nice caramel backbone, citrus and resinous hops. Oily texture, nice bitterness
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cavery (35) - Palm Desert, California, USA - OCT 22, 2011
extra courtesy of a kind trader MarkWise. Always happy to crack something I haven’t had. Thanks for the massive trade, and cheers for the extra. Poured into a Lost Abbey Tulip. Head formation was decent over a deep brownish amber body. This is already looking somewhat unusual, with more resemblance to coffee tables than others in style. Nose is sweet and malty, not much of a hop presence at all. rustic bready malts pop over garnishes of preservative hops. Mouth is light medium with a modest level of carbonation. This fits that sort of midwest category of IPA, but it’s really far too malty and sweet for me to consider it even to be a beer of style. I’m left confused by this offering. Mediocre in that there’s at least some balance to the madness.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 swigswthwolves (15) - Glendale Heights, Illinois, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass. This beer poured without much head while the hoppy aroma rose from the glass. Its color is light brown with reddish hues and appears hazy in light. Its taste is quite bitter and should be enjoyed by IPA lovers. After an exit from the palate, it does not let you forget its bitter hoppy flavor. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer if you’re in the mood for something refreshing yet a little more robust than the average beer.

On draft in Pittsburgh. Pours a deep amber color with a modest, but very creamy off white head that sticks around. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Taste is thick rich sweet toasted malt and caramel. Hoppy grapefruit flavor is present also, bu doesn’t dominate as the name would imply. Really great stuff!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BiochemProf (179) - Boone, North Carolina, USA - OCT 15, 2011
Copper pour with a quickly fading khaki head. Malty caramel and raisin aroma mixed with pine and citrus hoppiness. Slightly sweet caramel flavor followed by a sharp hot bitterness. Bit of astringency. Medium bodied but with a touch of viscosity (diacetyl?) Nice high carbonation level. Well done malty IPA.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 garrison (652) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - OCT 14, 2011
Purchased from Remke/Biggs in Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, this one poured an amber hued brew with good lacing, white head, and a delicious citrus/pine aroma. Tastewise, this one is very good and a standout American IPA... hops heavy and delicious!
