Bold, spicy and menacingly delicious, this American-hopped India Pale Ale offers an aromatic punch and then follows through with a lasting, full-bodied finish.

A - Pours a ruby amber with a thin head that dissapates quickly to form a razor thin collar. S - Concentrated grapefruit rind dominates. Sweet caramel malt. Slight booze. T - Astringent citrus hops attack the mouth with stinging barage of bitterness. The hops turn to a spice and salty character that doesnít back down. Throughout all this hop extravaganza, a pleasant fruitiness comes out and adds dimension. Malt fights itís way through the bounty of hops to the make this drinkable. M - Creamy with moderate carbonation. If hops is what you seek, you will find it in Hopdevil. I would recommend you try as many IPAís as possible before trying this one. Because after you drink this youíll compare the hop content of every IPA, as most everything else youíll think is "light on the hops". Serving type: bottle 10-17-2010

Very good and complex IPA. I got mine from a bottle, but I would guess the draft would tick slightly higher in aroma.

Bottle. Orange/copper color. Little white head with little to no lacing. Heavy malt aroma with some booziness. Medium carbonation with deteriorating hop bitterness. Malt booziness at the finish.

Good enough to be a non important milestone, also canít believe Iíve never rated this. #2900. Bottle, draft, possibly cask. Orange pour with white head. Some herbal, grassy hop aromas. Flavor are herbal, grassy and light citrus hop tones, and a big malt presence.

Bottle. Clear amber colour. The aroma has notes of pine, resin and caramel. No real hop aroma, maybe an old bottle? The taste is quite hoppy, pine and some grapefruit balanced with a slight malty sweetness. Nice balanced hop and alcohol finish, with a lingering bitterness. Nice IPA.

Pours an amber with a thin white head. Hops are floral and citrusy at the nose. A bitter taste through and through without much sweetness from malts. A medium body with a dry finish. Good all around.

This is a very heavily hopped brew. It is medium amber and cloudy in appearance. The hops overbalance the malt flavors somewhat, but overall a fine ale. Medium to full bodied.

Pours a dark golden color from the keg with a medium thick white head. Aroma was weaker than expected. Grapefruit comes through first in the taste with moderate balancing of the malts behind. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy orange. Strong citrus notes. Extreme grapefruit taste but finishes clean. A great IPA that Iíll come back to.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Clearly, bright orangey amber with a 1-finger khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of caramel, light fruit and floral hops. Taste of caramel, citrus and fruity hops. Medium body and high/medium carbonization. The name of this beer was is deceptive. (Malt Devil would be closer to reality.) It's a fairly straightforward fruity IPA with a lot of malt and only a little hop complexity. Pleasant to drink, but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
