boFNjackson (512), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 4, 2007 Bottle... Poured a hazy, dark orange with a nice white head, nice lacing. Sweet hop aroma with flavors of spicy, earthy hops up front-that’s smoothed out by caramel and malt. This is a really delicious brew.
HoppyGuy (101), USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a new-penny amber color with a very slight haze and a medium tan head. Hoppy aroma with a citrus undertone. Flavor is hoppy, yet I was surprised how much the maltiness comes through. Soft mouthfeel and a bitter aftertaste. Good and hoppy, just the way Ilike my beer. I’d like to pair this brew with a fresh-caught mountain stream trout, lightly sauteed in butter, plus rice pilaf and spinach salad. grandridge (143), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Sep 6, 2008 Pour amber golden with a nice white head. Aroma is nice citrus and sweet. Flavor somewhat dissapoints bitterness lingers too long. This beer should finish cleaner but it doesn’t. I really don’t understand how this IPA can be in the same league as Furious, AleSmith, and Two hearted. It still is very drinkable and a solid effort. gameface23 (91), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Sep 5, 2008 Enticing pour with a tan head and a hoppy aroma. Really balanced flavor. Malts and hops intermingle throughout each aspect of the sip. sleestak (70), Williamston, Michigan, USA Sep 4, 2008 Poured a clear brown-amber with a thin and soon-to-depart cream head. Aroma is a potpourri of hops - predominantly citrus. Incredibly sharp grapefruit hops yields to a peppery finish. Hops only teasingly balanced by caramel malt sweetness. Long bitter finish - like a Texas divorce in which custody of a prize smellhound is at stake. Mouthfeel is slightly viscous with medium carbonation. Not for the IPA novice, for sure, but deliciously challenging. jetzler (580), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottle, Pours a clear reddish color with a tan thin head. Nice malty aroma, a touch of spiciness. Nice hops as well, a nice balance a great mouthfeel. A nice sophisticated IPA.
