COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Bottle. Hazy cooper with a thick off white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is toasted wheat and brown sugar. Taste follows closely. Thin prickly mouthfeel and quick finish.

Banana on the aroma. Unfiltered, hazy appearance. Taste of Belgian wild yeast and banana. Not bad.

On tap at World of Beer Gainesville. Murky dark yellow pour, ugly. Aroma is sweet banana esters, brown sugar, sweet sweet sweet. Flavor follows this closely, plus body, not bad. Overall just not quite right for me in the style, as the sweetness is just too much. But not awful.

My only real concern with this incredible USA-made weizenbock is that its not so cloudy, even though the bottle info indicates "unfiltered". Regardless, I think this would be nearly indistinguishable from Aventinus in blindfold taste test (Schneider’s has a bit more raisiny-ness I think). Excellent!

Aroma is full of the yeasty/spicy notes of banana, clove and lemon zest - yet also sweetly malty. Flavor is more of the same, without the lemon zest. Medium bodied, giving it the kick of a bock and the refreshing quaffability of a weizen. Very nice. <P> Update: less of the weizeny esters are present and this beer is dominated by a sweet melanoidin palate and a strong alcoholic finish.

12oz bottle shared. Poured a murky dark amber/orange color with nice big off white head. The aroma is big wheat and spices. Very pleasant to the nose. The flavor is more of the same. Plenty of wheat and malt followed by spices and fruit. Crisp and clean with a tang reall like this beer.

Hazy red-brown pour. Nose of faint banana and apple with clove and toasted malt. Flavor is mildly sweet and fruity with apple, pear, and toasted malt. Mild plastic hops in the finish. Relatively dry and well carbed. Pretty nice.

Pours hazy amber with a thick, fizzy head. Sweet caramel malt, yeast and boozy fruitcake.

Awesome brew. Four pack from ABC Lake Wales. Aroma is Belgian yeast, fruity, some light spice, bubblegum. Flavors are very similar. Tons of Belgian character and a great citrus and dark fruit flavor. Awesome stuff.

Aroma: heavy sweet wheat, intense caramel, vanilla, banana. Appearance: hazy amber, small, white, creamy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: sweets and bitters balance, yet sweets eventually dominate, wheat, malts very pronounced. Overall: nice Weizenbock, with excellent palate and aroma. Pint at Rattle N Hum, Manhattan.
