COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Best by August 19, 2015.
Glass: Weizen.
Appearance: Monstrously huge tan head with a hazy ruddy copper color.
Aroma: Oh wonderful aroma with banana being the most prominent aroma, very bready like banana bread actually. Hints of chocolate, chalky yeast, clove and hints of dark fruit. Boy this is complex and beautiful.
Taste: Dark fruits reminiscent of cherry and fig are light but throughout, rather mild flavor compared to the aroma though. Some bits of banana and light clove on the finish. Bready rye like finish. A bit thin, a dash watery, but enjoyable and balanced.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: What a wonderful beer at a very agreeable price. This is my favorite weizenbock and I’m glad they brought it back!

Bottle. Deep amber brown with a huge tannish head. Aroma is yeasty apple, toast, and brown sugar. The taste adds spiced banana. Pretty active carb with a very quick finish. Not my favorite style, but not bad.

Bottle. Hazy cooper with a thick off white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is toasted wheat and brown sugar. Taste follows closely. Thin prickly mouthfeel and quick finish.

Banana on the aroma. Unfiltered, hazy appearance. Taste of Belgian wild yeast and banana. Not bad.

On tap at World of Beer Gainesville. Murky dark yellow pour, ugly. Aroma is sweet banana esters, brown sugar, sweet sweet sweet. Flavor follows this closely, plus body, not bad. Overall just not quite right for me in the style, as the sweetness is just too much. But not awful.

My only real concern with this incredible USA-made weizenbock is that its not so cloudy, even though the bottle info indicates "unfiltered". Regardless, I think this would be nearly indistinguishable from Aventinus in blindfold taste test (Schneider’s has a bit more raisiny-ness I think). Excellent!
