This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Hazy red-brown pour. Nose of faint banana and apple with clove and toasted malt. Flavor is mildly sweet and fruity with apple, pear, and toasted malt. Mild plastic hops in the finish. Relatively dry and well carbed. Pretty nice.

Awesome brew. Four pack from ABC Lake Wales. Aroma is Belgian yeast, fruity, some light spice, bubblegum. Flavors are very similar. Tons of Belgian character and a great citrus and dark fruit flavor. Awesome stuff.

Aroma: heavy sweet wheat, intense caramel, vanilla, banana. Appearance: hazy amber, small, white, creamy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: sweets and bitters balance, yet sweets eventually dominate, wheat, malts very pronounced. Overall: nice Weizenbock, with excellent palate and aroma. Pint at Rattle N Hum, Manhattan.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy amber orange color. Huge foamy beige head. Rich caramel wheat malt aroma has notes of cloves and banana. Funky yeast character. Tropical coconut nose. Sweet toasted wheat maltiness. Some nuttiness and citrus hops. Dry bitter finish. Quite good.

Drought. Hazy copper red with very small foamy white head, doughy aroma, low carbonation, flat taste, abrupt finish with alcohol aftertaste. The final product feels neither like weizen nor bock.

12 oz. bottle, best by Aug 15, 2015. Sent for review by Victory. Yep, all these powerhouse ratings, and they still want a little pub. I’m well-disposed toward Victory, anyway. (This should satisfy requirements for Full Disclosure). Foams up a bit as I pour into a smaller wheat glass. Ocher color under a big puffy head. Smell has some carrot cake and even pumpkin pie spice to it, but only from yeast, so it would make a nice fall seasonal. Taste has big German malts, kilned to caramel texture and with plenty of banana and bubble gum weizen esters. Malts hold up the extra alcohol. A bit strong for a "main course" beer, but it would be welcome against an onslaught of holiday feasting.
