COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

Pours a dark amber with a thin medium white head. The aroma is fruity and spicy with some notes of banana and clove. The taste is spicy, malty, and yeasty with earthy hop bitterness and a spicy dry finish. This is a good Weizen Bock.

Bottle pour into pint glass, hazy amber hue with medium froth setting stage for bananas fosterish whiff on a warm, doughy backbone. Mildly heavy sweet but not cloying, with help from fizzy zing all the way to finish. Nice all around brew.

My 100th rating! Bottle. This beer helped me to realize that I much prefer a weizen bock to a hefeweizen. A musty spice aroma hit first, but the scent melted into more of a sweet molasses, dough aroma. The appearance was a cloudy dark amber with a little frothy head that faded into a white ring with stay power. The palate was medium bodied fizzer, light to the tongue with that fizzy finish. The complex taste started off with wheat grain notes that melded into that bock molasses and dough finish. Delicious!

Good initial flavors, very nice appearance. Halfway through the tasting it becomes un-extraordinary. There are some problems on the finish - ranging from weak to a slightly dead off-taste.
