COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark amber wheat beer features fruity and spicy aromas galore. Significant strength underlies the pleasant citric appeal of this bock beer. Redolent with the flavors of harvest fruit, Moonglow typifies the traditional weizenbock-style so thoroughly enjoyed throughout Bavaria. Left unfiltered, its unique yeast strain gives Moonglow a radiance all its own.

On tap at Mahars. Not my favorite style, but this was a good beer. Had a nice clean flavor with nothing too strong to turn you away, a great session beer.

Pours a cloudy copper/orange with a thick white head. Very murky. Nose is fruity with dark fruit, vanilla, raisins, and bananas. Taste is plumbs, apricot, fruit, bready, raisins, with a slightly sweet finish. No hop character or bitterness. Finishes clean with no lingering flavors.

Pours a cloudy brown amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, brown sugar, dark fruit and sweet alcohol esters. Taste the same as aroma with some moderate herbal hops bitter notes. Palate is a medium body with good carbonation, fairly smooth. Finishes with dark caramel malt, brown sugar, some dark fruit notes on the back with some moderate bitterness, a slightly dry sweet alcohol ending. Overall a well balanced and flavorful brew.

Poured from the bottle of a 4-pack to a Lowenbrau mug I acquired somewhere in Germany 20 years ago. This doesn’t really taste like anything German, but it’s tasty and strong which are my two favorite characteristics a beer can have. Put it in a 6-pack and slap a $12- price tag on it and I’ll be a regular buyer.

At a tasting, thanks, small creamy stable head, cloudy pale rusty red color, woody aroma with some candy, nuts and paper, flavor of apricot with bubblegum and some metalic notes. quite simple and not too interesting.

This hazy, caramel liquid comes pouring out of the bottle and apparently does not like the way I am pouring. A huge head ensues, and it is ridiculous to think that I might get any beer out of this. I adjust, the brew is happy, I get beer. The head is amazing. An overwhelming fragrance of spiced bananas out of the neck as I pour, a very fruit/hay presence. It’s almost like eating granola with yogurt and a handful of a syrupy fruit. Quite pleasant and exciting for my olfactory senses! Love the aroma. The head is still amazing. The taste is confusing, sour on the back-end and doughy-sweet on the front, but isn’t that about right for this style? Dry and lingering on the sides of my tongue, it doesn’t leave any real flavor or taste that might throw off the next bottle, but it has so much personality of it’s own that you’d think that was just a ruse. That finish is almost perfect, but does leave that lingering yeast and reminds that this is a wheat beer and those don’t ’just go away’. A good brew, a comfortable drinker, and an enjoyable experience. If I was a big bock drinker, this actually be listed on my go-to list for a cool refreshing accent to a hot summer evening. By the way. I’m finished with the beer and the head is still amazing.

12oz bottle into a snifter. Pours a hazy medium brown with a huge fluffy white head that nearly flows out of the glass. Head retention is out of this world. Aroma has loads of bubblegum along with coriander. Lots of yeasty spiciness. Maybe just a touch of grass. Lots of spice in the flavor that really jumps out. There is a touch of caramel that I didn’t pick up in the aroma along with some additional malt character. Some grape juice and just a hint of noble hops. Mouthfeel is just a touch on the thin side but alcohol is well hidden. Overall, a very good weizenbock and one I thoroughly enjoyed, despite not being a huge fan of the style. I would definitely get this one again.

Poured a darker amber color with a medium tan head. Aroma is malty and sweet with banana and yeast. Some toffee and caramel too. Taste has lots of grains with raisins and dark fruit. Good malty flavors. Taste transitions into a darker fruity aftertaste with some caramel and dates. Somewhat spicy with cloves and earthy. Tasty!

From bottles and Cans. Lovely stuff. All the Hefeweizen qualities just more so but avoids being syrupy. Serving: Bottle
