Luxuriously rich in character, this warming winter ale delivers over 10% alcohol in an oh-so-seductive manner. Deliciously fruity flavors lie under a bracing hop nose.

Pours milky copper with a thin, creamy beige head. Aroma is dark caramel, dark fruit, sweet whiskey, orange peel, vanilla pudding, as it warms... leather, earthy hops and mince meat pie come out. Flavor is sweet grainy malt, earthy hops, fresh cooked caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, earthy root beer, some cherry and a little smoke. Finish is earth, woody notes, bitter hops and some leathery booze. Palate is medium body, hedium effervescense and creamy, slightly syrupy feel. Awesome, awesome stuff.

Pours a nearly clear ruby-red with a thin ring of foam and no lace to speak of. Incredibly potent aroma - dark, sweet fruit with a touch of booze and sweet mash. Sweet, sweet taste obliterated almost instantly but sharp bitter hops and peppery booze. Well-balanced with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Light carbonation and a thinnish body. Very, very tasty.

This might be the first barleywine I have tasted. Not that I haven’t had my share of Old E, but this is actually good. Huge sweet malt body, shapr with alcohol but a nice mix of the two flavors. Ends with some nice hop aromas, nothing specific but a good bite.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a rapidly disappearing beige head. The aroma has a nice mix of moderately sweet malt and fruits with strong floral and pine hops. The flavor has great balance between the complex levels of hops and the moderately sweet malt backbone. I get caramel malt, orange citrus, vanilla, some alcohol, a little pepper, and hop bitterness that works well with this beer. I have had this many times over the years and it has not been its usual self for a couple of years. Recent batches are making a triumphant return to quality.

Bottle- summer sample of this winter warmer. Copper dark brown with a small simmered head. Dark fruits-plum, mashy grains with a muddled ABV that blended well. Some spice sweet textures, good sipper. Flavorful and enjoyable.

12oz bottle stamped best before 2013. Aged for well over 1 month (I’m impatient...couldn’t wait any longer). This is a very well done beer and will most likely get better with age. The alcohol taste may have been a bit on the strong side but that is understandable given the 11% it is packing.

Poured a slightly hazy dark copper with a nice creamy tan head. There was some sediment suspended in the beer after the pour. There was a nice sweet aroma of caramel and dried fruit. The beer had a creamy silky texture. On the initial taste the alcohol was detected right away, but there was a good amount of sweetness that cut the alcohol. A good hop bite developed towards the finish and a good warmth. The alcohol taste initially blends into a nice smooth sweetness and the finish is a combination of sweet and bitter with the warmth flowing over it all. Excellent beer!!!!!!!
