Have you ever rip-started a lawn mower? I have. And I’d equate that experience to drinking this beer. Full, IYF (if yo’ face) assault on your senses. Oh, were you just saying you need to update your resume later? You also probably need to apply to a number of philanthropic jobs at some point in the next two days. I do too, I love dogs. BUT you cannot do that because the VICTORY brewing co. just took a major rain (shit) on your parade. Delicious light cinnamon and figs, old oak and dark as fuck berry fruits. Not so sweet, but then again that may be good so it won’ t fuck your little sister. All in all, if this beer was a person, it’d be Dave Duchoveny because it’s hot on the outside and just as good while it’s in you. BUT....you wake up knowing you got worked.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1536) - Michigan, USA - FEB 23, 2013
12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/15/2010. Pours very hazy and cloudy reddish brown color with a small fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lacing cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, raisin, fig, prune, apple, molasses, brown sugar, toast, leather, floral, slight pine, and earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt notes and subtle hops. Taste of big caramel, toast, raisin, apple, fig, molasses, leather, brown sugar, floral, grass, light pine, and earthiness. Slight earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, dark fruit, molasses, brown sugar, leather, floral, grass, light pine, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Excellent balance and complexity of malt flavors with subdued hops; with zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full bodied; with a creamy, fairly slick, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent barleywine. Great balance and complexity of malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

Draft at Fermentation. Clear copper pour with a frothy white head. Big, sweet caramel driven aroma with underlying dates, figs, brown sugar, banana bread with notes of piney hops. Flavor is caramel malts, fig, dates, french toast, and hints of hop bitterness in the end. Big, bold beer that’s on the sweet and boozy side.

Pours amber-red with a minimal head. Aroma is heavy malts - almost like animal feed (not in a bad way) & molasses. Taste is light molasses, maybe a faint citrus, & mellowed malts. The alcohol is well hidden. This is like the candy of Barley Wines. Awesome!!
