jeffwilliams11 (222), hooterville, Michigan, USA Apr 13, 2008 not too bad. really nothing special at all though. this is just an everyday, run-of-the-mill barleywine.
fredandboboflo (306), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bottle, most recent release. Aroma has some peachy/mango notes that seem to come from otherwise faded hops, many other tropical and red fruits all abound. Flavor malty, malty, malty, strong, fleshy fruits continue to shine. Full full bodied malty goodness. Excellent. joeymacaroni (35), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2008 tap @ Victory. dark ruby/brown with lacing but almost no head. nose of cologne, taste is loads of malt, dark fruit, candi sugar and caramel. hops sneak in and then assert themselves. woody, dry finish. warm and seductive. one of the finest beers on earth! ChazMania (276), Pasadena, California, USA Jul 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Holy schnikes! This is glorious. A deep red pour, thick lacing on my pint glass and creamy one finger head. Beautiful beer. First flavor is huge and complex. The alcohol is present and the sugar like molasses flavor is pretty strong. I can tell that this beer will kick my butt. Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 22oz bottle. Trade with TheEpeeist. Thanks. Pours close to amber with a red & orange hew & a lasting small creamy head on top - Wauw!. Nose is complex of various things. First is the dark fruits - resin & plum. Then it is the malty caramel. Nice citrus hop note also. Very smooth, soft & full mouthfeel. Sugar & alcohol is noticeable - but far from overpowering. Sticky lips. Well made & truly fine barley wine! blutt59 (520), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2008 bottle, poured a dark orange into my glass, raisiny citrus nose that gives way to a fruity hopbomb with a sweet dry finish, very nice
