Commercial Description:
Luxuriously rich in character, this warming winter ale delivers over 10% alcohol in an oh-so-seductive manner. Deliciously fruity flavors lie under a bracing hop nose.

Like many of the barleywines, the sweet malty aroma is abundant. However, the victory signature is apparent in the quality of the finish. Very smooth and a wonderful taste in a cool setting.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a stemmed glass. The color is a cloudy orange color with about three fingers of foamy off white head, some thick lacing. The smell is bit grassy hop flavor. Some dark fruit flavor with some banana and grape flavor. The taste is is a bit hoppy like an IPA but it does have some bite. It is warming with some fruit flavors coming across in the background. Some malt comes across late but not very much. The feel of this beer is medium but strong, with 11% ABV this beer has a kick and does show it on the way down. It has a warming, medium feel but does not give off too much alcohol burning.

12oz bottle best before Nov 6, 2014. 11% ABV. Pours reddish brown with a big light tan head that maintains a small cap. A lot of head for a barleywine. Minimal lacing. Aroma is rather hoppy, earthy, a lot of malt, and sometimes a bit funky. Flavor is sweet caramel malts up front, citrus and rensinous hops. Alcohol is well hidden considering the %. Mouthfeel is a little sticky but not too bad for the style. Pretty damned good. Like it better than the Third Coast Old Ale I had earlier tonight.

(br-btl bk-lbl, 11%)

lct-br, thin-tan-head, no-lace, full-body, ^co2.

aroma: dark-malt cascade-hop.

flavor: caramel T1, hop-bitter smooth-warm-alchl T2, citrus-hop-bitter T3.

the alchl and hop-bitterness do not get overpowering but they limit enjoyment to small quantities.

Poured an amber/red in color. Little in the way of head. Aroma of candied fruits. Taste is pear and candied pineapple. Not overly sweet though. Alcohol is apparent but well-hidden. Great winter brew.

Bottle. Dark amber colour, slightly cloudly, with white head. Mind blowing nose of toffee and spice. Lots of complexity, caramel malts, dark fruit, nuts and dark chocolate, with smooth finish.

Bottle. Poured a rich cloudy amber. Nose was hoppy andalty with some spice notes. Real nice depth of flavor. Very drinkable but fullll bodied. Nice hop notes but well balanced with a ton of malt and nice spice notes. Really good. Another good one from victory.

12oz bottle. enjoy by date of Dec29, 2011. Pours a syrupy dark amber, small lasting head and tons of floaties. Aroma of pine hops, caramel. Sweet sweet initial taste, very syrupy, heavy pine hop finish. Hint bread/yeast. Would never know this was 10.5%, the alcohol is far in the background.

Pours deep copper. Nose is big american hops, citrus, grapefruit, dark fruits, booze and sweet caramel. Flavor is bold fruit esters, citrus, pine all balanced nicely by big caramel and toffee. Nice!
