Tonight I picked up a couple bottles of this simply because my local liquor store had it in the overstock clearance section for $0.49 each. I expected to end up with cheap, stale beer to chug down after a hard day’s work - but instead found an amazingly powerful, fresh brew with some astounding properties. Victory Prima pours very well and has just the right amount of carbonation and a quite cloudy golden hue, rather like a wheat beer with somewhat more of a golden tinge. Interestingly, one thing my sample didn’t exhibit was the prominent head mentioned in other reviews (it was weak, almost nonexistent in fact) - one of the few downsights for this rating. The aroma is out of this world. The flavor is _intensely_ floral with hints of honey and spiciness, especially cinnamon and rose. In the end, what most sets this beer apart is the deep, long-lasting, intense aftertaste. I'm standing in the strawberry patch with Sally, and it’s no exaggeration to say it has the best aftertaste of ANY light-colored beer I’ve ever tasted. In fact, this is the best self-styled American Pilsener I’ve ever had, yet perhaps it would be better termed an Alsatian style beer, as this is much more like Fischer Bitter or Fischer La Belle than Pilsner Urquell. The final step is to run back to the liquor store tomorrow and snatch up the rest of those $0.49 cent bottles!

Deep-yellow to light-golden with small head and lacing. Aroma of malt, hops and sweetness. Medium-bodied, nicely hopped with dry hop taste and maltiness on the side. Crisp with minimal carbonation and very refreshing. An excellent beer for the summer and a very good pilsner.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden colored beer with almost no head. Carbonation is really weak which seems to be a problem with some of the Victory that I had lately. Aroma is quite subtle has I would expect of a pils but the taste is way too sweet for a pils. I’m guessing they put too much of cascade hops in this. There is some way better pils out there.

Wow I don’t get this beer at all. Pours Pee yellow in the glass. Very little head to it. Nose is very weak, coming off overly sweet. Attack is dominated by the taste of water. Finish is bitter and and unbalanced. Maybe I just got a bad one?

Clear yellow, white head. Hoppy crisp clean aroma. Crisp hoppy flavor with a decent malt backbone. Very easy drinking, full flavored, and enjoyable.

I wasn’t very impressed with this beer at all and don’t really see its high rating. There was not much on the nose and no real taste to it. Oh well to each thier own

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2004 Bottle Pours a clear bright pale yellow with a very strong nearly white head that lasted quite a while. Aroma is clean crisp and slightly yeasty/hoppy. Tastes of yeast and malts with a little honey in there. Feel is crisp and quick. Easy on the carbonation. Yeah it’s a pilsner, but its tasty and quite refreshing. My first of several "Victorys" coming up. Thanks to Probiere for the trade

What a head. This thing is big and rocky…it stuck around longer than the beer lasted. Nice German hop aroma, and bitter hop flavor. A well done American pliz.

Slightly dusty nose, light straw color. Light caramel malt with a certain graininess that dissolves into a pleasant hop bitter. A little fruit - grapefruit. Drys the teeth with hops. Medium body. Good balance and a very nice pils.
