4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle, pils flute. Light bread, toasted grain malt (M); flowery, grassy hops (M). Straightforward pils aroma (read tasty). Blossoming, creamy, frothy, tall, white head is slowly diminishing and sits on a deep golden-orange body. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor becomes a moderately bitter finish. Medium-light body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: so this is what a fresh pils tastes like!

Beautiful golden color, terrific hop nose. Everything that I like in a pils. Nice malt/hop balance. Wish I had it on tap at home.

Big frothy head over a clear golden body. Mucho carbonation. There's a big "pilsener" aroma that hits you when pouring. I can't get much malt out of the aroma, there's mostly just fruity, floral hops. It's very appetizing. The flavor has even more hops with perhaps a biscuity malt backbone. It's mostly big saaz hops. Green apples, caramel, and bitter leafiness. Dry, fizzy finish. This stuff has quite the hop burn to it, my tongue feels worn out from drinking it. I can appreciate the fact that this is sort of an Imperial Pilsener, but I'm just too used to more complex ales for this to be very interesting.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pale, but brilliant golden hue under a medium, frothy head. Floral, malt, bright aroma smells fresh. First taste is surprisingly hoppy. It takes a few sips to find the subtle malts in the background, but it is a worthwhile search. Nicely clean and even cleansing finish, a nice beer for a chili meal. Hoppy and bitter as an APA or IPA, but much lighter and more brisk. If this is what good pilsners are like, then maybe I enjoy the style after all.

Still my favorite pils. Very hoppy, just how I like em. Light gold color with a head like a cloud. Flowery cascade hop nose. Taste traces of pine. Just what you'd expect from V.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Plain golden, small head... nothing special here...
Skunky and sewery smell... not awful, but this really isn't enticing me to take a sip.
Well the taste is much much better than the smell. Strong floral, but also bitter and crisp. However, it's not really my thing.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A clear golden beer fills the glass under a dense white head. Hops meet the nose while preparinf the tongue for the well balanced sweet/bitter brew with the hoppy finish. Light, dry, and lively this is a refreshing Pilsner.

Not bad pilsner overall. Nice traditional hoppy presentation, with a dry end. Somewhat overcarbonated in my first encounter with it.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 19, 2008 The description says full frothy head, they ain’t sh*ttin’ here. Straw yellow color with light lemon zest taste. Bitter hops behind the earthy flavor. Light and nicely done. <Rerate 8-18-08>. Every time I have this beer, I like it more and more. Fresh hops and doughy malts. Crisp and as addictive as crack.

about as good as the style is going to earn from me, plenty of bitter hoppiness, nice bright yellow color and pleasant carbonation. I'd drink these as summer sustenance very easily
