UPDATED: FEB 26, 2013 Poured a clear golden color with a small tight white head. Hoppy earthy aroma, including hints of lemon as well. Smooth hops balanced nicely by malt, very refreshing.

Straw hue with a good frothy white head and lace. Hoppy nose for sure (pine, grass, grapefruit, lemon). Additional aromas of grain, toasted malt, doughy yeast esters. Nice crisp and twangy taste with a very hoppy character. Good undertone of malt for balance. Good body for a pils with a dry and lively mouthfeel. Unique among American pils, sublime complexity offered from this aggressively hopped beer. Among the finest pils offered on this side of the Atlantic, prost!

I guess I'm just not a fan of this style, but this definitely has more character than most. Very sweet with a nice dry hoppy finish.

Thanks to Darkover for the trade. This is one of the better Pilseners I have tried (along with Schell), and leads me to wonder why so many other ones are so bland and tiresome. The beer is a lightly cloudy pale gold color with medium white head that lingered quite awhile. Lots of small bubbles and thin lacing. The aroma is zesty hops. Light-bodied and crisp with a peppery hops flavor throughout. Some malt is evident as well. The finish is dry and hoppy. The Pils style is nowhere near my favorite but I can see this beer being the standard by which to measure others.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
golden straw body, adequate carbonation, a tight, glossy white head. nice musty/earthy hop nose, dry grains and a hint of alcohol. fairly strong for a pils, very hoppy for one, at least initially. It then sweetens and dries a bit. somewhat oily. not necessarily what I'm looking for in the best pilsner around.

Very clean pilsner. Very good. Had it off a fresh keg and it was so good. Very crisp and refreshing. Hoppy. Light in color. Pours with a nice head. Pleasant.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2003 Golden color with the typical white foamy head of a pilsner. The flavor, however, is not typical at all. It has the crisp hoppiness of a US pale ale, with a nice smooth maltiness underneath. A great beer; by far the best pilsner I've ever had.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2003 12 oz bottle poured a crystal clear golden color with a nice head, storm of bubbles, and very nice lace. The aroma is very hoppy and flowery. The flavor is very hoppy and has a solid malt backbone. Almost a buttery flavor in there somewhere. The palate is perfect. This is good.
