UPDATED: APR 25, 2010 On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso, Washington DC, 6 March 2010. Attractive clear gold colour. Moderate white head. Biscuity malt aroma. Not too bready. Good balance of grassy hops and light toasted malt on the palate. Some lasting bitterness. Very refreshing and crisp.

Light and hoppy floral aroma which is quite pleasant. Yellow, slightly hazy appearance with a decent size white head. There’s a nice hop bitterness for a pilsner. Medium-bodied and lively, should be equally enjoyable for pilsner and ipa drinkers alike.

Pale straw color at pour, medium sized head which slowly dissipated. Citrus and hops aroma, flavor was very hoppy, and bitter finish. Seemed more like an IPA than pilsner.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Pale yellow pour with a bubbly white head. Clean, piney hop aroma as well as the bready, Earthy, bitterness, and slightly skunky aroma typical of most lagers and pilseners. Taste is slightly sharp but clean with a mildly bitter finish. I’m sure that Victory makes a fine pilsener but I’m just not a fan of the style. If this was the only style of beer I would not get excited about beer. But for what it is I think it’s above average.

America is still catching up in the Pilsner category. It’s a great taste for warmer weather, and the country’s future is bright in this category. So, any step forward is a positive. Prima Pils from Victory Brewing bites and fizzes like a good pilsner should. But the flavor of stinky Noble Hops is an acquired skunky taste with a vegetable-like finish. Pilsners are great beers. I applaud the effort, but would look elsewhere in this category. For a positive comment, the flavor is present and upfront.

Bottle. Pours golden and yellow with a sizable frothy white head. Aromas of straw, hay, and some citrusy hops. Flavor is sweet caramel, bitter pine, and a grassy finish. Very smooth, creamy, and moderate carbonation. Really refreshing, good stuff.

First rating of a pilsener. 12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow-gold (like watered down apple juice) with thin layer of white foam. Aroma is hoppy (lemon, sweet floral) along with bready malts and some yeast. Flavor is dry and lightly hoppy with a hint of spice. Very light mouthfeel and dry finish. Okay, but I would like to try this on draft. (1529, 263)
