COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: 2 row German pale malt; Czech Saaz, German Northern Brewer hops.
Heaps o’ hops are hiding under the full, frothy head of this elegant Pils. All German malt subtleties linger beneath a long dry finish of this classy quencher.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
Pailhead (3326) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - MAY 23, 2005
Bottle: Aroma is lemon, grassy, and a touch of spice. Pours a transparent yellow with a white head that is somewhat quickly diminishing. Lemony and grassy up front with a light-moderate hop finish. Even with the hops it’s still a pilsner and I just can’t get into the style. Yes it’s one of the better pilsners, but nothing fantastic in my opinion. For those that are a fan of the style, probably quite the find.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 2/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 1/5   OVERALL 9/20
Boutip (3294) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 4, 2004
Bottle: Poured a clear golden colored beer with almost no head. Carbonation is really weak which seems to be a problem with some of the Victory that I had lately. Aroma is quite subtle has I would expect of a pils but the taste is way too sweet for a pils. I’m guessing they put too much of cascade hops in this. There is some way better pils out there.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2011 Updated to reflect my mature palate’s appreciation for pils....everyone should be forced to re-rate this beer after 3,000+ reviews. The pour gives a lightly hazy, glowing, golden-straw body with a moderate head of smooth eggshell foam. Fading at a decent clip, the head settles as a swirly film with a tight, bubbled edge. Tall striped flares of lacing slowly break apart into small, hard spots. The nose is pils in its purest and most divine form. Fresh grassy hops burst from the glass, biting with subtle hints of white pepper and drier notes of straw and earth. Hops are perfectly balanced by notes of subtly sweet dough and bready lager yeast, taking a nod at farm-fresh egg yolk and baking bread. Awesome. It simply begs for a gulp. There I go......GULP....GULP. So damn refreshing. The hops dig in to the tongue, reminding of fresh cut grass and peppery lemon rind. Beneath, Bohemian malts are soft, round, and super-yeasty. Everything’s fresh and balanced, each sip begging the next....and the palate backs that all up. Well carbonated, semi-dry, and fairly crisp, the body distributes the flavors throughout every square millimeter of the mouth, leaving a lingering grass bitterness that almost never fades. THIS. IS. PILSNER. My newfound go-to beer of choice.

Bottle, a gift from Odeed! Nose is of some citrus, some grainy maltiness, with a tiny hint of tartness; Hazy urine yellow with a small white head; Flavor shows the citrusy hops, a little yeastyness and a noce bitter hop finish along with the tongue-tingling palate.Tastes a lot more appetizing than it looks!

UPDATED: APR 18, 2011 Bottle courtesy of Fratto. Welp, looks like I’m against the grain yet again. Hazed lemon-drop pour. Smell has some grainy pilsner notes. Light scents. Some soured elements as well. Upfront bitter. Hops fill out the middle with a rough finish. Dry to the bone. Rough finish. 1.5
RE-RATE 4/18/11 Bottle from World Market. Pours a very clear golden yellow color with lots of carbonation bubbles apparent. The head is formed after a bit of agitation and forms into a foamy white crest.

The aroma is dry and malty, with a strong element of grains and a hint of citric fruit. Fairly straightforward by style standards. Smells very dry.

Flavor is dry to be certain, with grainy flavors, bitter malts with a hint of fruit with a dry and bitter grainy finish. Hops are felt and tasted as well and appear as a sharp bittering agent. As far as the style goes, this is very representative of what it should be. It’s just honestly not one of my favorite styles, but I can’t knock em for that!
